Odd that they decided to restart with a very forgetable event instead of with another infinite Crisis or even have done that with Final Crisis

I'd much rather have them restart with Flashpoint. It was eons better than Final Crisis.

Sold pretty well too, so it's not like it was some obscure side comic or anything. It was suitably big.

Not to interrupt the current discussion, but a friend of my would like to read some good Superman stories, and aside from All Star, I'm drawing a blank. I don't really follow the Man of Steel all that closely.

Any suggestions of good Superman reads?

I haven't read it myself, but a lot of people like Rucka's Superman run. I'm pretty sure it's in trade somewhere.

And I like the Death of Superman. It's a big story, and to get the whole thing in trade will probably set you back 50 bucks. But it's one of the most famous comic book stories ever, so probably worth the read.

Superman for all Seasons
Death of/World Without Superman
Crisis on Infinite Earths

Thank you very much, guys. 'Tis greatly appreciated.

Now to just wait for Grant Morrison's Action Comics.

Birthright is my favourtite superman origin story until now and it's a good read but it wil be no longuer canonical because of the upcoming Grant Morrinson's action comics stories

All Star Superman.

Yep, out on Wednesday, September 7th.

thanks!!

I'm definitely picking up all the Superman books. I'll give their first story arcs a chance before I pass judgment.

I'll pick up JLA #1 tomorrow.

Are the inital story arcs supposed to be 6 issues? did I hear that correct?

Wow. Golden Age Superman is back. Good times ahead. I hope when he gets his full powers and starts fighting aliens, he will still have the golden age attitude of being a take charge kind of guy and not forget about the little guy.

Morrison really seems more at home writing Superman than Batman. Really hope that the Superman in Man of Steel also has this kind of attitude rather than the boyscout attitude.

yeah, that Superman is kinda an *******. That's...that's not Superman.
