As far as we know, it's just Kryptonian Ceremonial armor. The fact that it's armor has nothing to do with whether or not he can be hurt it's just, something from Krypton to wear.

Something ugly from Krypton. :o

I want a Kryptonian fashion designer to turn up alive and blast the s*** out of Superman for his terrible fashion sense.

I dont think its that bad.

EDIT: Wow, i just copypasted the link from Tinypic and the pic appeared. I havent been able to do this so far. I must have been doing it wrong somehow. Can someone explain to me how to do this properly? This is... weird.

It took me about 3 weeks to get used to the armored suit. The only thing I still have an issue with is the collar. The collar makes no sense, unless this Superman has an irrational fear of vampires or something.:o

I could have sworn some DC exec said that the reboot Superman can be hurt and that's the reason for the armor suit. What I'm curious about is exactly how vulnerable he is.

Wouldn't be the first time. He was a lot weaker in the post-Crisis reboot too. Experience tells us that he'll be back to normal in another ten years or so.

This is true. Also true: his suit looks ugly in that pic.
That's subjective.

I think they designed the suit first, saw that it looked like an armour, or at least not spandex and decided it to call it that. There is no need for an armour. They could have removed the obviously metallic pads on his boots and just said that its some highly durable kryptonian material.

It's totally rational to fear vampires. They will bite you and make you sparkle in the sunlight :wow:

He looks Asian in that pick.

That's Superman's stunt double :ninja:

uh-oh.......

you wouldn't like Clark when he's angry.........lol

but seriously, I hope that quote doesn't mean this Superman will go around threatening people who find out his secret..........:csad:

if you're that concerned about your secret, wear a freaking mask for goodness sakes..........:o :oldrazz:

Nah, it's likely about Clark using his job as an advantage and leaking corrupt news about politicians and whantot. Clark Kent: Daily Leaks!

I still don't like a Superman who threatens people, though........which that quote and pic imply......

but, we'll have to see the full context once the issue is released.....

I just worry it will be something more than that, like he's bullet proof, but can't take much more. Otherwise it just doesn't seem worth noting. Superman hasn't been totally invulnerable since the bronze age. Even when they raised his power levels gradually throughout the post crisis, he could still be harmed by a strong enough villain.

See, why couldn't the comic's new Kryptonian armor look like that? At least the seams on that costume seem to have some kind of coherent design aesthetic behind them.
Those seams are a mess if you ask me. They remind me of Venom, trying to wrap around him and cover him completely or something. Its a massive error that there is nothing to break up the blue in his midsection. It makes that bulge look even larger.

How the hell did like 8 of you not notice his tremendous bulge? It's like it's the filming of a really expensive porno.

My eyes are drawn straight to his package. Now I'm sexually confused. :csad:

By the Action Comics quote, it sounds like Morrison's Superman would support Wikileaks and the like.

Superman has always had a massive package. Most of us are desensitized to it at this point.

Well, yeah. He's only been active like maybe 5 years. Everybodies younger.
