I like and prefer Boy Scout Superman.

so, it will be interesting if in Action Comics, Superman "matures" throughout the book. it will also be interesting to compare the "early" Superman in Action to the older Superman in the other books.......

I just thimk they're going stick with a more Golden Age inspired Superman for awhile. I grew up with the " Big Blue Boyscout" but I also have a fondness for Golden Age Superman, and I can see how that version of the character, in a modern context, could attract new readers.

In least the golden age superman is not as dark and emo as old Superman: Earth one

There was nothing emo or dark about Earth One's Superman.

Ugh yeah emo and Superman don't mix.

I don't mind DC binging back a Superman who's willing to work outside the rules of the establishment, Our goverment officials are showing us how useless they are on a daily basis, so Superman waiting around for the system to work is not going to help anything.

Earth One Superman did suck.....lol.

I'm cautious about the new Superman, too.

I'm all for Superman going after corrupt individuals......

but I read that preview.....and him taunting the cops like that, bragging about his powers, "playing" with that corrupt guy's life like that.......

that's not really the Superman that I know and love............

if that's what the new Superman will be like........I think I'll just pass.......

In JL 1 Superman seems to be a bit more braggy when he talks to Batman.

^ I noticed that too........

so it seems both younger Superman and older Superman are more "cocky" in this new DCU......

and again.....that's not really a trait I want to see in Superman........

It's not really a "new" Superman though.

That's basically what I'm still interested in the series for. If Superman's gonna stay a childish fratboy for a significant amount of time, I doubt I'll stick with it. But if the series demonstrates that it's about Superman's growth from a cocky young kid to the greatest superhero of all time, I'm in.

well.....technically it is.......

I mean.....he won't be the same Superman that most people have known throughout all these years.......

But he will be the same Superman that our Grand fathers read about.

Actually technically it's not considering this "new" characterisation was around before the one we're most familiar with.

I'm sure that he'll mature and become less cocky as the story goes on

yYou want Morrison to make Clark Kent turn into Batman?

I refuse to respond to that on the basis of its sheer ridiculousness.

I got confused for a minute with all the Earth One talk. I'm reading these posts and I'm like "uh that's still the most beloved version of Superman of them all". Then I remembered that JMS GN had the words Earth One attached to it and went "ah". I had forgotten all about that book for a minute there that's how much of an impression it left on me after I bought & read it.
