I really wish they'd leave off those trunk lines like Nicola Scott's been doing in the last few issues. I think their presence just makes me feel like something's missing.

The mid-torso lines are the ones that I wish they'd ditch. With the other ones, I can believe they're seams in his alien uniform or whatever, and I can roll with it. The ones over his abs on the other hand really just seem like they're purposely overdoing it.

Yeah I agree. The funny thing is I tend to like the way the suit is drawn within the comic over the covers. I feel like these covers were drawn months ago and the interior art is more recent and thus more refined.

Sorry; I just can't get myself to like it. Though I do have certain problems with his reboot, this new design is the worst. Even if the story isn't so bad, that look just sucks IMO. (I know I should get over it, but that's just how I feel.)

How would you feel if the seam lines were toned down or removed and all the other changes stayed (no trunks, high collar, red piping on the collar and wrists, same belt, etc)?

I'd still really like the collar to get lost (along with the tummy seams/pointless lines). I'm fine with the other changes, and actually like the red piping around the wrists.

I really do hate that collar. I'm sorry but I really do feel that Superman's classic costume was perfect! It's one of those looks that does not need any changes ie. Captain America, Wonder Woman, Captain Marvel, The Flash.
I'm not so archaic in my thinking that I don't think anything should ever change; some redesigns have been great ie. Thor, Nova, even Spider-man (movie) and the tweaks to Batman lend itself to updates (much like Ironman); but this seemed like change just for the sake of it. It was not an improvement. I still say it has more to do with the Segal & Shuster estate vs DC lawsuit than anything (I could be wrong, but I don't think I am).
