I like how Morrison writes Supes villains, Metallo, Lex, even Brainiac come across as really sympathetic. It's a great change from the almost Satanic villains he writes in Batman.

So is Mxy supposed to be both this other little dude and Clark's landlady? I'm a little confused about that...

Maybe Ms. Nyxly's name being so close to Mxyzptlk is just a red herring. Maybe Morrison is just toying with us. :ninja:

Her name being close to Ferlin Nyxly's could be toying with us too! We're all Grant Morrison's playthings!

Anyone think he looks quite a bit like Henry Cavill in the second section?

Glad I wasn't the only one who thought that.

Also what was up with this Ha-La-La stuff? I just wish they went back to the old ways and used symbols.

I did like how they tied into the Superman arc. I also like how Lex was the one giving Clark all those tips. I just wish they showed more of the romance between Superman and Lois or at least Lois and Clark ike the first arc of Superman did. I also wish they changed the suit. I mean I like it and all but just feel they should have went another way. I also hope now that this arc is done we will see a much bolder and meaner Lex.

Also does anyone know when we are going to see when Superman learned how to fly?

man........I need to catch up on the Super books..........

the only one I'm current on is Supergirl.

I assume the ship was speaking Kryptonian.

If I recall correctly, "Ha-La-La" is translated at one point from Kryptonian as "Many, many greetings."

I like the new approach to the language. It reads lyrically and warmly even as I continue to have no clue what it means. The random :supes: sigils and Voyager-style symbols felt like callbacks to the colder Krypton of the Eighties, which the new take doesn't sync with.

Kryptonian sounds really goofy to me the way Morrison writes it. But I don't really care.

Why did Superman's outfit change color and design when he hit off things?

Probably will be a major plot point down the road.

Why did Superman's outfit change color and design when he hit off things?

Seemed to me that the suit "recognized" whatever Kryptonian artifact he came in contact with. It might also extend to other cultures, since he changed colors while he fought up close with Brainiac and Corben.

Hey, where's that guy that always says he's going to quit the Superman books and then comes back next issue and says it again?

So is Mxy supposed to be both this other little dude and Clark's landlady? I'm a little confused about that...

He's definitely the bartender

Not sure if he's Clark's landlady too but that would be a neat twist

I'm digging Mxy being the main villain here though I kind of miss the more silly version with the bowler hat

I just pictured the little man and Ms. Nyxly wearing a bowler hat that never gets pointed out until the big reveal. :oldrazz:

It was actually the bowler hats that raped all those women in A Clockwork Orange.
