The Official Superman Thread - Part 4

Eh, not always. Back in 2005, DC drastically changed their logo for the first time in a long time, and everyone freaked out about how ugly and un-iconic it was, and how it was the herald to the end of all things...

7 years later, it seemed like a perfectly ingrained part of DC Comics that people were actually disappointed to see go.

And that's exactly what'll happen with the Superman suit. New readers and fans picked up from the upcoming (trunk-less) MOS movie won't even notice, most old fans will just grow accustomed to it and start to not even notice it, and the only small fragment of the populace who actually does continue to care will be viewed as pointlessly petty and bitter.

*claps

Superboy was great. I liked this issue and thought it was funny seeing how Superboy reacts to finally being free and how he thinks.

Any chance Dc can hire Mark waid to write Superman? Not confidient about what Im hearing about Lobdells writing

Not gonna happen. Waid isn't fond of DiDio and then DC up and promoted the guy.

This Spaceman/Adam character is obviously Captain Comet

It's supposed to be the first Superman that Siegal and Shuster created...which makes me wonder how they got the rights for him......

Sigh.Well that sucks.Really wish Comic book writers let go of off petty feuds.Im pretty sure Lobdells gonna suck and then well have to change creative teams again. Its just too freaking embarrasing.I can think of anyone else who can handle the Superman title-I maen we cant clone Morrison.

So whats the feud between Didio and Waid about?

Actually its more like a fusion character between captain comet and the first superman

It's kinda sad that Superman Beyond is probably the second best Superman title being published currently. :o

IMO Superman: Earth One and Action are tied for first and Smallville is second. Smallville is actually a great comic.

1). Earth One isn't an ongoing so it wouldn't count even if it was good.

2). I read one issue of Smallville and immediately regretted spending the dollar.

If you read the monthly ongoing it is very good if you read the digital it falls off. The stories are much better when collected.

That's ********.

A good story should be a good story no matter how you read it.

Wasn't the first Superman that Siegel and Schuster created basically Lex Luthor with mental powers?

I thought he was Bill Dunn who was given the powers by a bald super genius.

So whats the feud between Didio and Waid about?
Basically DiDio was a jackass going up and down the halls of the DC offices saying how much he hated 52. Steve Wacker tried to shield Waid, Johns, Morrison, and Rucka from DiDio's tirades. And then he put salt on the wound saying that Countdown was 52 done right.

And of course there is the whole Legion debacle where Waid revamped the Legion and DC threw it out the window and it was kept secret from him until it was on the verge of being printed.

And during his final run on the Flash, DC reneged all of the promises they made to Waid in order to get him back on the book.

Oh, the Legion's being reverted to their Silver Age schtick was kept from Waid? That's f***ed up. Especially since his interpretation was vastly better. :csad:

But yeah, if that 52/Countdown thing weren't enough to clearly demonstrate that DiDio shouldn't be involved in anything creatively, I don't know what is.

Aa much as I will always love the classic Superman costume, I'm finally starting to warm up the New 52 Superman costume.

morrison is off action after 16

nooooooooooooooo

Well there goes my interest in the book.

I hope he gets Multiversity off the ground and pursues more creator owned books.
