So H'EL snaps Jor-El' s neck ......does this happen before Forever Evil or after?? Because no effects have been shown of Earth not having Superman....

Why do you keep asking these questions when you know the answer is always "we don't know. Wait for the rest of the story."

Superboy is going to die in the Krypton Returns storyline, he'll be replaced by Jon Lane Kent with Superboy #26. And Supergirl is going to be leaving the Superman family.

I'm okay with that, considering how little I care about this New 52 Superboy.

I feel like that needed to be fixed.

I agree Shazam is one of the more annoying posters with the constant questions non stop. And always talking like this....... With the dots...... Between sentences.....

But I guess now we technically have an answer as to whether Return of Krypton takes place after Forever Evil. Since Superboy is in Forever Evil and dies in Return of Krypton.

How'd you figure this out did I miss something? I'm following all the Superman books but action and supergirl.

From the NYCC Superman panel. Straight from Scott Lobdell's mouth:

Turning to the “Krypton Returns” event crossing over in “Action Comics,” “Supergirl,” “Superboy,” and “Superman issues #25, Lobdell told the room that the Super family were going back in time to try and prevent the destruction of Krypton. Explaining that Superman will have an acrimonious meeting with his mother and Kara will see both her younger self and He’l, Lobdell also added that Superboy will die at the end of the event, calling it, “The ultimate sacrifice, giving his life in order to stop the universe from falling apart,” and from issue #26 onwards in “Superboy” the story will be about John Lane Kent, the original son of Clark and Lois. Lobdell also said that Supergirl, “Will be leaving the Superman family forever for another whole set of books in the DC Universe,”

Wow, so I guess I don't need to read comics anymore since they're gonna tell us everything.

what do they mean "Supergirl will be leaving the Superman family forever for another whole set of books?"

The Supergirl book will be cancelled and she'll join the Teen Titans or something??

She's gonna renounce the house of El, literally?

Well I haven't read Superboy or Supergirl in almost 2 years now. Not even during the "H'el on Earth" story which I only followed in the other Superman books. I just really can't stand these versions of those characters. Jon Lane Kent coming to the present time Prime Earth intrigues me though. There is some good dynamics to explore with Lois & Clark's actual son being around their younger selves.

What I did hope would happen was that since the Titans are stranded in the 30th century they end up becoming the Justice League 3000 for good. So that we could finally see those characters written better as an ensemble and also see a return of the legacy aspect that once defined the DCU. Then they could also reboot the flawed Teen Titans book with a new set of characters and all new direction.

I just read the latest Superboy book and I just can't get over how terrible the character is maybe editorial is realizing it as well.

What's up with the lack of Unchained this month?

Been reading Secret Origin for the first time. Resonating way better than Birthright so far.

Watching the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Trailer just reminds me how lackluster Superman's 75th has been.

He had a huge hit movie this summer, a logo specifically made for the character, basically put on the map by getting a sequel announced to said hit movie I think the man of steel did good this year.

He had a polarizing movie this summer, has Batman getting shoved into his sequel where the announcement of who's playing Batman has overshadowed Superman's involvement completely, has a mostly mediocre line of comics, and is generally still not getting the full respect he deserves from DC/WB.

I think he could've done better.

I said good not great. Haha

Just finished Secret Origin. Definitely beats Birthright imo. Birthright may be lengthier but Secret Origin is brighter and more pleasant. Lana was a bit rushed but the pacing is appropriate overall. Definitely wanted to read more after finishing.

8/10

I didn't like Secret Origin that much. It was good but to me it read like Geoff Johns was recycling Donner's Superman along with things he fan fictioned while watching Donner's Superman. It had good moments but overall, meh. I was expecting something more.

Mm. That's fair. I think I felt the same way with Birthright in terms of expectation. Hm idk maybe it's the art I wasn't completely into? Haha.

I think Birthright had moments but I also think Secret Origin did too, they would be best if mashed together.

I haven't read Birthright yet. I ordered it at the comic book store i used to bike comics but it was delayed a couple of times and i moved out by the time the store finally got it. :P

It's definitely worth the read.

Oh definitely. In the barn making the costume, emailing Ma Kent, and a lot of other stuff. I just think I prefer Secret Origin in terms of aesthetic.

I thought Secret Origins was good but I prefer Birthright and Earth One to that. To me Johns and even Morrison just seemed like they were trying to hard.
