The thing I really don't get is why it's so impossible to write Superman or Spider-Man married, yet they've been writing Reed and Sue as a married couple perfectly consistantly for 40 years.

I think writers get wrapped up in the superhero angle. The Reed and Sue example is valid, but its slightly different, since theyre both heroes, so they would spend time at home, and crime fighting together. Mary jane and Lois wouldnt be fighting alongside their respective men. The thing is, they think its impossible because they're constantly put into danger, theyre fighting bad guys all the time. But the thing is, writers need to realize those relationships shouldn't be any different than a woman married to a detective, underocver cop, or soldier. Its really not that difficult.

Exactly

If anything, I believe that it can increase the story dynamic of an ongoing comic, rather than decrease it.

Can't say that I'll buy it, but the designs look pretty enough.

The designs look ****ing terrible IMO.

That artwork is so much better than Kuberts and he isn't trying to reinvent the wheel.

i like his bizarro, but im not too keen on his supes, but it still beats the snot outta kuberts

not really. thing is the whole thing gets pretty freaking annoying. because its predictable.

wife is going to worry about rather or not her husband is dead or alive.

husband come home late, wife nags him.

or wife has to make an attempt to keep husbands secret from being released and shes off to save the day.

i guess it would work for spidey, jms proved it. i sjut want them to stay away from those stereotypical situations.

Powell's stuff looks good but I actually like Kubert's work on this book.

I don't really care for the fact that everyone on Bizarro World, as in seen in the annual, will be a 'Superman' Bizarro. I was hoping for Bizarro incarnations of Lois, Jimmy, etc...

Which they do. The Busiek issue showed that perfectly.

This issue here was worth the wait. I have to say this was the best issue yet seeing Zod
release all the phantoms and taking their son back
.

isnt that almost the exact plot of the current season of smallville?

can donner/johns do anything in their superman run that isnt already a horribly executed idea from another representation of superman?

Its much different then that if you read it. The book is more like that part in Superman Birthright when Lex faked that invasion only this time is real. I is well played out though. Thats why this book is more like Birthright and For Tomorrow if you loved them you'll like this book if you didn't then this arc is more then likely not for you.

What? No it's not. Don't say that. Birthright was average (largely due to good art) and For Tomorrow sucked (largely due to bad art...also that whole stupid ideal world thing). This is actually entertaining, with good art.

This last ish was great.

Well for me I loved both Birthright and For Tomorrow so I compare this to that because that most view this book like they view Birthright or For Tomorrow.
