Mark Waid wrote Kingdom Come.

I know, but every time people bring up Kingdom come, they usually just mention Alex Ross and his art. Then theirs the fact, that the mark waids sequel to it "Kingdom" was not that memorable without Alex Ross's art.

Kingdom Come would have been great with any good artist. It just happens to make it rather more unique.

The Kingdom would still have sucked if it was Alex Ross drawing it. It would have beautifully sucked.

The Kingdom sucked so much, CHuck Austen used it as a plot point in his Action Comics run, which he never finished because it sucked that bad.

You're not wrong. It's Johns. It's going to suck.

You're just angry and still bitter that he replaced Kyle Rayner with Hal Jordan :o

Jim Lee is alright IMO. Although he does draw everyone to look the same.

Many artists draw just about every character the same way.

The book is like a mix or For Tomorrow and Birthright so if you loved those books then this is the book for you if you didn't then you might not like it as much.

...Didn't we just through an entire two or three arc's worth of comics telling exactly why Clark Kent is an excellent reporter and how much he's respected by the staff? For Perry to belittle him like this, much less mock his marriage to Lois (which he's always been supportive of) just seems incredibly out of place.

And this whole, "You're the last son of Krypton, you can NEVER BE ONE OF THEM!!!!!:mad::mad:" shtick...wow, thanks, Papa El, but it's been overplayed for about five years. Didn't he just go through an entire year living just fine as one of them??

Gee, we couldn't possibly be bringing in too many sensibilities from the movies into comic continuity, which is exactly why a lot of people felt iffy about this whole deal in the first place, could we:rolleyes:?

It's not bad its more like Birthright meets For Tomorrow; its a comic book that feels more like a movie/novel.

I did. As I said before issue by issue this might not be for you but in a TPB it would be great. The book is written more like Birthright and For Tomorrow (meaning it is written like a movie/novel instead of a comic)

That's cool. But still, I might just pick it up tomorrow.

Exactly what I have a problem with; and to note what I hate about the movies. Superman is basically a human, the whole point he is a hero is because he was raised by the Kents - dispite being an alien he is actually more human than a lot of us, that's why he is a Superhero and not an Emperor of Earth.

Anyway; those previews just show that I don't want to read this book - what I thought all along.

PASS.

Get them off action and put Joe Kelly or Rucka back on and in the mean time I'll get good Superman writing from Buisek's Superman.

I might just stick with Cooke's Superman Confidential.

i picked it up... i hated it... im giving this one more issue then im dropping it... utterly ****ing stupid... and thats being nice...
i could have called clark was going to rescue the kid and try to raise him! lame! and how the hell is he even going to attempt to raise this kid as his own now that the government has seen the kid? has video and photos of him? might as well just paint a target on lois and admit hes superman!

sethcohen so, their basically trying to tie into superman returns.
