I'm definitely digging this arc so far. It has some interesting developments so I'll stick around to see where it all goes.

I think this new Jor-El looks pretty cool. It's nice to have something different, and this version is fresh and new.
I always find it weird when people quote a post from months prior, and continue the conversation as if the quotee had just written it.

If I wanted "fresh and new" takes on previously established characters with no regard for continuity, I'd read All Star. :o

How can he adopt the kid, the entire world has seen him. also clark kent suddenlty adopting a kid, which looks alot like the alien kid would further lower the intelligence of everybody who still does not suspect kent is superman.

This arc looks good to me. I just hate the fact that they didn't just give Superman and Lois a kid of their own. I mean if you are going to let them have a child that is the way to go. Also I think that would be better then having them raise Zod's child.

...it's a beard.
...which in and of itself contradicts every single aspect of Byrne's sterilized Krypton, where all of the citizens had every piece of hair removed. :o

Actually, it's hard to tell which side you're on here. Comic Book Boy seemed to be impressed by the inclusion of a beard, whereas I called out the unnecessary change and its effects. Are you dismissing both my criticism, and CBB's impression, on the basis that it's simply "a beard" and not worth discussion?

Byrne's Krypton needed to be changed. I mean that was a cold heartless place where you couldn't feel anything and kids were test tube babies.

...which put more emphasis on Earth and how our planet made even the most sterile and alien of beings into the most human of us all. What's wrong with that?

well thats because he was rasied by them and knew nothing about his past till much later on for post crisis. Hell Birthright Superman was the same way as well as all the pre-crisis Supermen. The difference is Byrne's Superman was more like Spider-man at first.

It will happen eventually happen [Just not right now, Dc comics love to toy around with the Baby issue .]

Whoa, Back up Zod's kid [that's freaking impossible to be true] If anything I'm guessing this is another one of Brainiac's tricks. Like before with Cir-EL

The kid is suppose to be Zod's son you get a hint at it while he was playing with the blocks and knocked over the S for the Z.

You've got to be kidden me , you think because of the scene in the lab with the kid playing with the blocks when he knocks over the S for the Z (That means Zod ?)

Oh come on I think your grasping at straws that aren't even thier . Besides What kryptonian woman In The Name of all that is good, prefect & holy would ever have sex with Zod ?

And don't say Ursa

Why else do you think that Zod and Ursa and Nod are showing up during this arc??? To say hello. The boy is from Krypton, I think think it is their child which would bring some good drama to the story I believe.

That's just too freaking creepy & disturbing for me to even think about .

More like Spider-man? I've heard this comparison on several occasions, but noone can explain to me just wtf they're talking about.

Even in the early days of post-crisis, Superman was still confident like Superman should be, and didn't make mistakes like Spider-man did, so I'd like to know where this comparison comes from and how it relates to Byrne's Krypton and its contrast with Earth.
