The official "THE OFFICE - SEASON 3 DISCUSSION THREAD"

Everyone don't forget, ALL-NEW 'The Office' tonight, at 7:00pm! Not 7:30!! And if you set your DVR or whatever, it's going until 7:45!!!

EXTRA-LONG OFFICE with the confrontation b/w Jim and Roy! :wow:

8pm eastern:word:

Angela searching for stories about Dwight and Jim catching them was great, as was Toby dealing with Ryan and Kelly. The negotiations are pretty funny too, though sometimes I wish they wouldn't portray Michael as so child-like. I hope with Roy fired we get more Darryl.

HAHA! YES ANDY IS BACK AND GOT PEPPER SPRAYED! Toby taking Dwight's weapons afterwards was awesome.

This episode was great. And Dwight macing Andy at the very end was priceless.

Great ep. I'd try to start quoting the show, but it'd only demean how truly gifted the writers/actors are

Nice product placement by NBC (Heroes), but totally understandable and completely within Dwight's character, lol!

It's finally back. And a great episode to return with.

Why does Michael hate Toby so much?

I was expecting Angela to just bend over at the end and scream "Take me, Dwight!"

My prediction: Roy will almost beat the crap out of Jim, but Dwight will step in and save Jim's butt. ....

For the record, I totally called it a month ago. For all the people that ridiculed me for apparently no reason, you can all KMA.

I'm so glad The Office is back. A lot of laugh out loud moments, but I really cracked up when they cut to this:

One of my absolute favorite moments of last night was Creed's version of the story for Angela. I dont even remember all of what he said, but as soon as he started talking, I was pretty much on the floor cracking up.

Honorable mention: Michael wearing a womans suit.
Jim seeing Dwight and Angela.
Both of the macings (especially the first, where it gets in everyones eyes).
The uncomfortableness that is Toby. First Ryan/Kelly, then Michael/Jan.

Hey, does anyone happen to have the Heroes promo from last night?

Why does Michael hate Toby so much?

They have conflicting personalities to the Nth degree. I can relate to the situation too, as I assume many can. I don't really think there is some sort of exaggerated backstory to the situation.

Actually, there is some backstory. Even though it's glaringly apparent that most of Michaels ideas and plans concerning the office are hare-brained or innapropriate, as Toby is the HR representative for corporate he has the responsibility of enforcing office policies. He's the one you speak to when you file grievances against Michael, He's the one who has to perform a review of sexual harrasment policies after an incident in the office, and he's the one who had to take Michael's corporate credit card away after he used to to buy magic tricks. Originally, Toby was used to negate some of Michaels crazier ideas, but obviously the writers found the humor in the office politics setup and have been developing that relationship. All of the buildup of Toby's foilings of Michael's ideas throughout the first part of the show's run came to a head with this:

After that hilarious moment, the writers have had no qualms about having Michael outwardly and openly express his hatred for Toby.

"Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he's really not a part of our family. Also, he's divorced, so he's really not a part of his family."

"Toby Flenderson is everything that is wrong with the paper industry."

"[Toby is] the worst human being I have ever known."

Dwight: No need to thank me. I am not a hero. I am a mere defender of the office. You know who is a real hero? Hiro, from Heroes. That's a hero. Also, Bono.

With 24 going down the ****ter, its wonderful to have my favourite show back with new episodes, and SUPERSIZED.

Surprised Michael didn't drive home to change or at least take off the jacket. Ricky Gervais would be game for something like that, but I just don't know if David Brent could.

Does Creed know anybody's name besides Michael? :D

Andy is back and in pain! Oh Toby will you ever win?

Toby: I don't think Michael intended to punish me by putting Ryan back here with Kelly. But, if he did intend that...wow. Genius.

Kelly and Ryan seemed close to breaking up and then they went right into the makeout session at work.

Michael: Wikipedia is the best thing ever. Anyone in the world can write anything they want about any subject, so you know you are getting the best possible information.

Here's some spoilers from wikipedia (which has sources and been correct all year)
"Safety Training" Greg Daniels Greg Daniels April 12, 2007 TBA 47
Returning from anger management, Andy promises to make amends with his co-workers. Michael and Dwight lead the employees in safety training.
"Product Recall" TBA TBA April 26, 2007 TBA 48

The office is in crisis mode after a large shipment of Dunder-Mifflin paper is accidentally sent out with an obscene watermark. Michael tries to manage the media with an impromptu press conference. Jim and Andy try to calm the high school principal who has sent out prom invites on the affected stationary.

The following information has not yet been confirmed officially by NBC.

"Beach Day" TBA Harold Ramis TBA TBA TBA
Michael takes the office on a trip to the beach, where he creates Survivor-style challenges for his employees to compete in.

I love the summary of Product Recall. Harold Ramis is back to direct an episode, which will probably be the season finale. There is only one other episode that hasn't been revealed yet.

Kelly: What is so stupid about wanting to name a baby Usher? Usher Jennifer Hudson Kapoor.
Ryan: Don't you see why that's insane?
Kelly: Oh, so I'm crazy now?

Michael: Toby, come on lets go.
Toby: Where?
Michael: Where!? I'm gonna smack you in the head with a hammer! Come on, let's go.
Toby: Alright.

Darryl: Okay, bring it home now. And don't forget the new black man phrase I taught you.
Michael: Pippity poppity, give me the zoppity.
Darryl: [to camera] Yeah, I taught Mike some new phrases. I want him to get the raise. I...just can’t help myself.

Michael: It was a weird day. I accidentally cross-dressed. And then Darryl made me feel bad for not making any money. And then I had to ride up here with stupid Toby. And then your assistant was all young and hot.

Jim: I guess, all things considered, I was lucky Dwight was there. And Roy was lucky that Dwight only used pepper spray, and not the nunchucks or the throwing stars.

Roy: Halpert!
[Roy charges at Jim, but Dwight sprays him with pepper spray. Everyone in the office is blinded]
Dwight: Pam, call security! [talking to camera in tears] Every day, for eight years, I have brought pepper spray into this office to protect myself and my fellow employees. And every day, for eight years, people have laughed at me. Well, who's laughing now?

That was Comedy Night Done Right. The Office, 30 Rock, Scrubs, Andy Barker P.I. and My Name is Earl. Great to see Will Arnett and Tony Hale on the same night, even if it was different shows.

PIPPITY POPPITY, GIVE ME THE ZOPPITY!

Oh god, I almost cried.

What a freaking great episode. Worth the long long wait. The Office is seriously one of the best shows on televison right now.

I don't remember laughing as hard as I did when I saw this.

Dwight steals the show every episode.

The face that Jim made was hysterical. My roommates and I paused it on the DVR for a good two minutes laughing at that one. That's something that Krazinski never made before.

Here's a question. You ever get the feeling that in the series finale, Michael will reveal that he's been playing everyone all along? That he's not the innocent, ignorant idiot he seems to be? Perhaps he takes off that loveable doofus mask, and we see a sado-masochistic side; one that started long before the documentary crew arrived.

As a sad, lonely man with alot of free time on his hands, perhaps that's how he entertains himself. It'd be a very... unusual way to go through life; but as they say, life is what you make of it. Perhaps he learned in his socially-stunted youth that if you can't lick 'em... confuse the hell out of them. With this cast of characters, Creed in particular, I wouldn't put this past TPTB.

What do you think? Stupid?

No I really don't think they'd do that. We've come to known and like the character like he is now, they wouldn't rip that away from us, it'd make the viewers feel like fools. Plus we've seen Micael when he was younger and he was exactly like he is now.

Well he wants to be a magician and if you've seen The Prestige....

If anything, Michael will mature a bit more and tell Packer off.

John Kraszinski does facial expressions better than anyone else on TV today. He may very well be the best expressionist since Don Knotts.

I didn't think they could top last week's episode, but this week's may have beat it, couldn't stop laughing at the trampoline gag.
