I hope Balder's the first that comes back. Then he and Thor can bond while they find the rest of the Asgardians.

What? No, she doesn't.![]()
Yup she does. Read "Galactus: The Untold Story." Obviosuly with her being dead there could be some problems with that time line, however, this is Marvel and nobody stays dead for long because the writers always run out of decent storylines.
Wasn't the Frankie becoming the new Galactus idea from 'The Last Galactus story' (and afiak Byrne never finished it so we never got to see that conclusion anyway?)
And agreed on the resurrection thing...that story was set a 100 million years or so in the future. Plenty of time for her to have made a comeback.
AAH YES! My bad, I got the name wrong![]()
The story was finished (sort of anyway) it was printed on a page with no pannels, onto a black page at the end of the story. Galactus fights the Watcher, lasy waste to the universe in thge process, then does his destined job after he wins. I found the story somewhat... just. He finally got to give back what he had spent aeons taking, think the guy died happy.
More alternative? Hmm, wonder what they are like.
Incidentally, back when I was first approached about Marvel's "The End" project, I was asked to think about "last issues" for the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. One of the things that occured to me was using this as a way to finally finish the Last Galactus Story. Goes like this:
One day, out of a clear blue sky, literally, Nova falls into the heart of Manahattan. The FF go to investigate. They find her, and after a bit of trouble deciphering what she is saying they realize she has come from billions of years in the future. Reed's "universal translator" was having problems with her speech because she was speaking English, but English distorted by billions of years. Anyway, she finally tells them what's going on with Galactus and the rogue Watcher, and the FF race off to use their captured version of Doctor Doom's time machine to speed to the future and try to help Galactus. (Reed, you see, being Reed, has already figured out what Galactus' purpose is in the scheme of things.)
Uh oh! Using Doom's time machine alerts the good Doctor to what they are up to, and he goes after them. Pretty quickly he figures out what is going on, and realizes this is a perfect opportunity to steal the power of Galactus for himself. The universe may die in the meanwhile? What cares he?
So, of course, the FF end up battling Doom, who is doing all kinds of things to try to get Galactus' power, while Galactus is busy himself dealing with the rogue Watcher. Finally the good guys -- which includes Galactus in this case -- win, But Ben and Nova both die heroically in the process. Galactus wonders what it was all about, what it was all for. Reed tells him. Galactus understands. The FF (what's left of them) start to head back to their time machine with Doom as their prisoner. Galactus calls after them. "Leave him!" Moment of tension, but Reed agrees. The FF return to the present, and just as they wink out they see Galactus open the seals on his armor and begin to release all his stored energy.
The three are back on Earth, in the present. They mourn Ben, but they resolve to continue to fight the good fight, in his honor. The Fantastic Four are no more, but the Three shall fight on! Sue wonders what Galactus wanted Doom for.
Cut to somewhere, somewhen else. Energies roil. A Universe is aborning, and at its heart we see a great cosmic "egg" akin to the one that once gave birth to Galactus. It opens, and Galactus rises from its midst -- but when he turns to us, we see he now has the face/mask of Doctor Doom. Like a certain other human we all know, Doom is about to learn that "with great power must come great responsibility'.
From the man himself:
Thor and Sif can never make Magni. He's the Enchantress' son. But I liked that Sif was more of a mother to him than the Enchantress anyway. Maybe Thor will go back to the future of The Reigning and bring Magni back with him.Presonally I'd like Sif to be found first, so they can start on Magni. After all they'd have ALL of Asgard to themselves.

That's where you're wrong, Magni is the God of Strength, it doesn't matter who the mom is, he exists either way.Thor and Sif can never make Magni. He's the Enchantress' son. But I liked that Sif was more of a mother to him than the Enchantress anyway. Maybe Thor will go back to the future of The Reigning and bring Magni back with him.
In my books the Giantess was the mother to Thudra (SP) Sif does give birth to Magni, Modi and one other son by another god and was an exelent Skier and Archer and if I'm not mistaken in the Myths he was kicked out of Asgard, so who knows, maybe Amora will have the Archer god through Thor while Sif has Magni and Modi. The gigantess Járnsaxa was Magni's mother. Didn't know she was an enchantress also.
If you're talking about the Magni from The Reigning, he's the son of Amora and Thor. Thor and Sif could have another child and name him Magni, and he could be the god of strength, but it's not going to be the one we know and love from The Reigning. That's where you're wrong, Magni is the God of Strength, it doesn't matter who the mom is, he exists either way.
If you recall the Eye of Odin Arc, there SHOULD be Magni AND Modi as twin brothers. The reason we only saw Magni in the Reigning was more than likely because Amora is only a Demi-god, and I'm assuming that since Roy Thomas was using actual myth for THAT Asgard and Sif was Modi and Magni's mother.
I know it sounds weird but if you really think about it Magni has more Thor and Sif traits than Thor and Amora traits anyway. I don't care if Magni looks like the 3515, I'd just like to see Magni and Modi is the series.
Yes I know 3515 Magni (the Reigning) is Amora's son, but in the Eye of Odin Arc from Volume one issue 294 there is Magni AND Modi, son's of Thor and Sif from Two Asgards ago (Counting Thor's Asgard coming up).If you're talking about the Magni from The Reigning, he's the son of Amora and Thor. Thor and Sif could have another child and name him Magni, and he could be the god of strength, but it's not going to be the one we know and love from The Reigning.
Hey Wobbly!
You know this was one reason I disliked Byrne, he didn't finish alot of stories Marvel OR DC, and the fact that he and JQ seem to have a liking for killing off main characters.
Still doesn't explain why he has this urge to kill off characters. I can't stand that JQ does it either. Sure it's a sales gimmick, but it gets pretty darned boring real quick. In fairness to Byrne, he does go on record about the various books he has left (among other issues) here:

I know there was another Magni, but I prefer the Reigning's. If he's not the Magni coming back, I don't really want to see Magni at all.Yes I know 3515 Magni (the Reigning) is Amora's son, but in the Eye of Odin Arc from Volume one issue 294 there is Magni AND Modi, son's of Thor and Sif from Two Asgards ago (Counting Thor's Asgard coming up).
Magni Exsit's either way, I was just saying the possible reason Amora only had Magni was that she is only a demi-God, Sif would have more than likely given birth to both Magni AND Modi.
I'm not expecting to see the same looking Magni, but, the Character still exists as the god of strength.
