Possibly. Truth be told, I'm kind of glad Thor's at least not back in full "Ragnarok" mode, actually. Sure, he was probably one of the most powerful beings ever with the addition of the Odinpower and rune magic, but Thor is a warrior, not a mage. I like seeing him smash Mjolnir into people's faces and stuff. I just wish he wouldn't get his ass kicked doing it.

I got the idea that the Thor we saw wasn't "Thor" Thor. But like... a representation of his personality? Since he had to basically choose to come back to life, apparently. I wouldn't say that they brought him lock stock and barrell to that place, just to have him get shoved into a body.

i too thought the issue was fantastic and how now donald blake "knew" more than thor. since db "no longer existed" and thor had to will himself back into existence even without the asgardians, maybe their "souls" will merge and create a unique being.

maybe he'll be a DC Captain Marvel type. thats the vibe i was catching. kind of like how at the end, db was like "i just got my identity back" as in now that thor and i merged, we can exist again.

oh and i think this issue sets up Hulks defeat by Thor, in WWH just to establish that Thor is and will alwayys be the most powerful hero in Marvel.

While I certainly wouldn't mind that, I don't see it happening. Thor's never had a particularly good track record against the Hulk to begin with.

Yeah, but given the number of bodies in his vision, I think that's probably the big Skrull war coming up later on. I very much doubt the Hulk, for all his bluster, would actually go around killing everyone in sight.

possibly, but the skrulls have so many enemies. and with the way marvel is hyping hulk right now, he could easily take out all the skrulls.

I'm fairly certain WWH will be over long before the Skrull war rolls around. I don't think the Hulk will have to take out any Skrulls.

i mean who else "could" stop hulk, we know sentry is going to get his butt handed him.

I don't think the Hulk will be physically stopped. I think either one of his Warbound will be revealed as a traitor who set the ship to explode, or he'll just realize how futile and stupid this revenge kick is and get over it, or Banner will find some way to exert control over the Hulk again and stop himself.

thats kind of my point, if thor was coming back for the skrull war, hed come in later.

bc assuming hulk has his way with the world, when the skrulls ebel t will be hulk vs. all the skrulls.

so if the skrull war is going to happen later, someone is going to have to stop hulk.

and since they hulk just took out blackbolt, and will take out everyone else too...it seems the only person available to stop hulk is the recently arrived thor.

so the traitor hypothesis carries more weight. still it was th illuminati who sent him there to begin with. i dont think he'll be that forgiving.

I would still like a full issue of a splash pages of some good ole asgardian hammer getting pummeled into the face of the jolly green giant like nobody's business.

and if there was a side of wolverine getting his butt handed to him too...that would make kaboom one happy fanboy.

1) I've seen pictures on Preview books where Thor is fighting Sakaar-garbed Hulk. So, they'll likely be having some kind of...reunion.

2) The speaker in Thor #1 was simply saying that gods/deities are simply ideas formed in the heads of people, from their imagination, rather than that people were created by gods/deities. Because Thor is an idea-based entity, he must live on as long as there are those who need him. Gods/deities were created in our imaginations out of the need to believe in a higher power. That's exactly what the speaker is saying, it's not a new concept at all, just one that's sort of new to Marvel. It's not about "faith based powers" either so much as it is about "faith based existence".
