The Official TIH Preview Thread

I think TIH has the potential to do IM type numbers, but then i think about how the Ang movie has left a dark mark on the character, in the minds of the general public. I forsee an 70-80 million opening weekend. It's a shame too, cause Hulk is almost as popular as Spidey, and certainly way more popular than IM.

If Prince Caspian...the follow up to a film that made almost 300m couldn't even bust 60m opening weekend...I don't think Hulk will come anywhere near 70-80m opening...I'm gonna say more like 35-45m opening...and a final tally of about 120m. But hey we'll see :woot:

it won't do "IM numbers" and not because its not deserving but rather because it's not blessed with IM wonderful circumstances upon released date

right off the bat hulk comes out on the same day as a shayamalan movie(hate them or love them, everyone sees them)

to have nothing out when you open and be followed by speed skittles in your face racer and then chronicles of no one really cares about me narnia and then indy appeals to older gen jones...

hulk can't do IM numbers
(ironman can't even do them...all summer movies should be so lucky)

Lol, if Indy doesn't blow Iron Man out of the water I don't know what will. If you think it's only for the old folks you are wrong on so many accounts.

Alot of Dads who grew up on Indy are getting their kids into it.

Indeed my mom actually got me into it. Interestingly enough, I was due to pop out of my mom the day the Last Crusade came out, but I was just too stubborn, so she went to go see it instead.

I wasn't around for the culture phenomenon that was Indy, but I sure can't wait for this new one. (Save for the exception of Shia. :csad:)

when there is a trailer for the new pokemon or beastwars movie, i assume it's a kid infront of the tv with his eyes opening in anticipation...
"I gotta see this...dad take me"
dad says "sure thing kid"

when the indy trailer appears on tv...it's vice versa

older gen, doesn't mean kids won't like it or aren't interested..
but when it comes to who that film is being made for?

go read harrys blogs about the old days

and yes old folks have that g1 tf thing

but unlike that
there isn't a place for todays youngsters to find indy on tv or where ever today...cept the vid store

then again, there is shia

Anyhow, what came to mind was your early review of the Transformers movie, which was far from the glory your review made it out to be.

Uh...I never reviewed Transformers. Nor did I ever do an early review of it. Are you confusing me with someone else??? I mean, I did actually call Transformers the worst movie of 2007. (Ok, no need to bash me on here. I know a lot of people liked it.)

You're right. They've only been showing the trilogy every day for a month on at least four different channels. Its impossible for the kids to catch them anywhere.

then again, there is shia

Hmph... biggest disappointment ever. I've seen him pimp the movie more than Ford, heck, I've seen HIM pimped more than Ford.

It's... it's.... sickening.

To El Guapo, what date are you allowed to talk about what you saw?

I don't have a date, they're supposed to let us know. (Us being the me and the other guys who went.) I mean, I'd rather talk about what I saw too, but I can't just yet.

Ok. :yay:

and i'm sure when it comes to get kids of today to be excited to a new tf movie it's all about replaying the old show and g1 movie every day for a month on at least four channels.

it's not for them

the new one will give them something no doubt
but as of right now, when you look at the 4 body traditional household, when an add for indy last crusade comes on
it's all about the dad standing up and shouting "that's me tonite"

just as the oc get's a certain someone to claim it's theres

It can't be that much more than the trailers or tv spots anyway.

lol really?

guess some exec knows that ford has his installed base already

shia needs to get the mtv ppl interested somehow

That exec would be: Steven Spielberg who is treating Shia like Burton treats Depp, he's his golden boy.

I don't mind him in this film, but when I heard talk of Lucas saying he'd like for Shia to be the main character in the next and have Indy come back as a side character like Sean Connery in The Last Crusade...? Sickening.

......maybe so.

Funny you mentioned MTV. I just saw Shia and Ford on that channel being asked questions about the movie and shia and ford were making gay jokes about beating each other with the whip.

That's not a good comparison. I remember Narnia's Christian allegory angle was pushed hard and had great grass roots marketing. The only reason I saw Narnia on opening weekend was because, as a Christian, I wanted to support the movie. I know I wasn't the only one. Still, I found the film itself to be very ordinary. This time around, they thought the momentum from the first would carry it. They were wrong. None of my friends, family or myself have even seen Prince Caspian.

Yes, god shall be extremely wrathed that you didn't see Prince Caspian.

Funny as a Christian, it's the reason I wasn't going to go support it. (Not trying to be a dick, I just actually found it ironic. :oldrazz:) In the same vein none of my friends would see Golden Compass with me... ah well, I hear they butchered the book so I guess I'll check that out instead. :o

Narnia, wasn't just... ordinary when I finally saw it... it was down right boring. I don't know a single person excited for this one.

The same could apply for Hulk as people don't know this is a reboot in many cases. They may assume more of what the first delivered (just like Narnia.) Though I am surprised the first Narnia even did as well as it could with the whole "Allegory" push.
