Okay, it looks good, how is the gameplay options? Thats what will sink or swim this game.

Well since it's basically Ultimate Destruction all over again with new skins and people to fight, I really don't see this game sinking. Unless they pull an Ultimate Spider-man and change and remove all the things that were fun about the previous game.

Dont know why they used Rick in the game when they didn't use him in the movie.

Funny... I thought Ultimate Spider-man kicked the crap out of any of the movie based games.

The problem is, people keep saying "It's basically UD." Yes... in theory, but you have to see how it PLAYS first, seeing as it's an entirely different studio given no resources from the previous studio.

So no, it's not basically UD, it's SEGA's attempt at trying to do UD.

We have to see more first before we can claim it up to that caliber.

Edit: and wow, thems some ugly screens.. :(

Agreed! I have to say the screenshots released of the game so far are doing Sega and the game itself no favours! They should hurry up and release some quality gameplay videos like Iron Man.

The trailer looked promising but every new screenshot that comes out puts me off this game.

Hey, opinions, opinions. I personally don't think that Spider-man should web zip his way through a city or use the same combos over and over again. Not to mention the web attacks.

As for this game, I am loving the graphics. It really does look like a next gen UD much like Spider-man 3 was a next gen Spider-man 2.

You mean to tell me that this doesn't look like good quality to you?

This is Halo 3 level stuff here.

Not the PS2 version, that I have.:csad: The Xbox360 version kicked all sorts of @$$ though.

No...not at all but to be fair nor did Halo 3 to me. It looked like Halo 2 in HD. Heck some Wii games (See Galaxy, Metroid Prime) have much more polish than the next-gen Hulk game, even without pushing the same amount of pixels. (And yet, the Wii/PS2 versions of TIH have even more problems than underpar visuals....:wow: really looks like they didn't even try with those two.)

Then again, looks aren't everything hopefully they really capture the essence of UD and it turns out to be a fantastic game.

Opinions are right, I am not trying to damper anyones enjoyment of an upcoming game. Frostbite doesn't swing that way. :o But being a huge gamer, I'd like to state my disappointment thus far.

As for Ultimate Spider-man, agreed about web-zipping and lack of upgraded combos, but the overall game was insanely polished compared to it's movie counter parts AND I thought it did a superb job of bringing those comics to life.

Admittedly the only thing I absolutely hated about the game was not being able to replay the game with unlocked constumes... (Seemed so obvious to me... why Treyarch!? Why!!!!?!?!)

Dont know why they used Rick in the game when they didn't use him in the movie.

Rick might be in the movie. Martin Starr plays a character in the movie but it has not been revealed who it is. Starr might be Rick in a flashback or something like that.

I was actually gonna edit my post when I wrote it to say that that shot is one of the few exceptions.

I am so going to buy this game as soon as it comes out for Wii!

Well can we agree that The Incredible Hulk (both generations) look better than Hulk: Ultimate Destruction? I mean H: UD looked good but it was no God of War or anything.

Ultimate Spider-man just felt very shallow to me. The learning curve was short, sure, but then it just started feeling very repetitive. I like the game and would like to see more comic book based games as opposed to comic book movie games because I liked the colorful and vibrant look. It's just that I wish the gameplay was as deep as the movie games. I mean an Ultimate X-men game in the vain of Ultimate Spider-man would be fantastic. Or even Fantastic Four.

True TIH pushes more polys and better lighting, but honestly it's polish is less than that of H:UD. The environments (So far, as we haven't seen very much gameplay,) are barren and lifeless. UD did a great job of showing that you were rampaging through a city that was terrified of you.

This one is just... meh, and I expected more as the systems can push more. Look at Radical's latest project (who made UD) "Prototype" about a guy with monstrous powers reeking havoc on an unsuspecting city. There are people and cars back to back everywhere packing this city just preparing it for a smash-fest.

I suppose I just wanted more in that case. (Was one of my issues with the spidey games as well, but far from my biggest problem with the third one.)

Now the repetitive part we can definitely agree on! It was a problem I felt leaked into Spidey 3 as well and ruined it for me. "Fight random gang #1" "Great! Now fight gang #2!" Which just happened to mean mash on the same button for hours. It does indeed get old, and needs some spicing up.

It's only to bad these hero games have never gotten that "Wow!" title yet, we do have Ultimate Alliance... but I mean a free-roaming wow title.

Edit!: Actually... a free-roaming-non-RPG-action-adventure Ultimate Alliance would be awesome... imagine a game like Spidey/Hulk, only you went after your foes/explored the city by picking any marvel character you wanted with different forms of transportation?

Ah... but only in a fanboys dreams.

That has been a dream of mine for ages!! - a Marvel Ultimate Alliance type game in a free roam world. I'd love to have Storm/Phoenix, as a charater in that game, properly taking flight like Superman/Iron Man and fully unleashing their powers. Hopefully one day something like that will happen...
