The Official TIH Video Game Thread

I'd like to see a ton of super villains from the comics.

What unlockables would you all like to have in this game? I just want the Grey Hulk & it should be where if you choose to play as the Grey Hulk he appears grey in the cutscenes as well.

Joe Fixit = the Man, that is my one and only unlockable request.

Like the Devil Hulk, Ravage, & Madman.

Well I was thinking more along the lines of classic villains like the Glob, the Bi-Beast (worst name EVER :wow: ), and the Missing Link, but what the heck, the more the merrier.

Bi-Beast is okay but I don't want him to be in any Hulk game anytime soon. I'd rather see someone like Ravage or the Devil Hulk.

Edge of Reality Working on New Hulk Game

There have been lots of speculations about a new Marvel game that was being developed by Edge of Reality. IGN is reporting that Sega has confirmed that Edge of Reality are indeed working on a ‘The Incredible Hulk’, a game that will be based on the movie of the same name, which will release in 2008[...]

Interesting, very interesting. I'm glad this game is being made & hopefully it can live up to 'Hulk: Ultimate Destruction'.

Game based on movie, but with diffrent story line.

Free Roam.
And you can change from Hulk to Bruce at any time of the game.

cool ..that's something i really missed on ultimate destruction, it would have been great if there was some place to rest and turn back human during the game and maybe just take a walk until some guy made him angry again...

That was done [poorly] in the Hulk game of 2003

even though that game was some fun, it wasn't free roam, and nothing near Ultimate destruction..
maybe we'll get the best of both world ;)

..but i doubt it will be made for ps2 :( and if they make it they won't take so much care of it for the ps2 version just like they did for spider-man 3 and others... what a shame..

PS2 is dead, buy an X-box instead :woot:

nnooooo ..i bought that this christmas :o
i still got to get all the best games... i'm gonna play the punisher very soon.. :D ..i'm not sure i'll play the first hulk :/ ..i already tried the pc version...

You got ripped off :cwink:

buy an xbox for 50 quid on eBay, then a 300 gig HD, and roll on the gaming system that kicks ass
(and Hulk Ulitmate destruction is so much better on x-box) :woot:

I rented it on my PS2 since my Xbox acts like crap. But, I do have an Xbox 360 so I'm in luck when the next Hulk game is released.

You mine as well try to buy a next-gen console, all of the new games are basically going to be on the new systems. Time are changing & so are systems.

Free roam hadn't been established in superhero games back then so the Hulk game from 2003 was actually a great game for it's time. Then 'Hulk: Ultimate Destruction' came along......:word:

I Beg to differ,
GTA III made free roam widely popular, and it was out in 2001 for PS2, so way before Hulk game
that's for one :o:cwink: [just noticed the "superhero games ", not general games, my bad]

and for second,
my point wasn't that the lack of free roam that made the Hulk game poor (enjoyable but poor), it was the feeling of doing the same thing, 5 different vilains to fight on endless level that looked all the same...

andabove all, the banner sequence, was just a poor-man solid snake...

I like free roam, but sometime you spend more time free roaming than actually doing any mission,....

anyway, if done good, the new game could rock on both sides, which I hope, but I doubt

Yeah, I want a bunch of combos like in 'Ultimate Destruction'. In 'Ultimate Destruction', as the Hulk you had a lot to play around with (I especially liked the steel fists). I don't really care for playing as Banner if you can play as Banner he at least needs to be able to truly know how to fight. I also want unlockables, such as a Grey Hulk skin & an Abomination skin. I'd also like trailers & comic book covers & pages to be available as unlockables.

yeah all well and fine but the prices of the new games pisses me off too!! HULK SMASH XBox360 and PS3 prices!! RAARRGHGHH!!!

Anyway, It HAS to be free-roaming, anything else would be a step backwards... How about a Wolverine/Wendigo/forest realm, that would kick some serious butt!!!

Nah, no Wolverine for this game. Maybe Wendigo, but not Wolverine. I want to see Madman & Ravage return, they were excuted pretty good in the 2003 Hulk game.

Those arn't Sega Properties that you listed off though. Just because Nintendo, Midway, Edios, Capcom have not left their big sellers in the dust... oh... wait... last actual Street Fighter to come out (III: Third Strike) was a long freaking time ago... well in any case, just because the others havn't left them with bad teams, doesn't mean SEGA hasn't.

Iron Man DOES look like crap. Not because it's SEGA, but because it looks like crap to me, my opinion stands.

NiGHTS impressions from most editors of most Nintendo channels will tell you, it's pretty much crap. Will I be playing it? Yeah, definately. I was too big a fan of the original. But... it's Sonic Team, they havn't made a good game since Yuji Naka left because SEGA was trying to take over his series. (Sonic)

Not a bitter SEGA hater. They do good work on their arcades, excellent in fact. Hence why VF5 turned out so freaking awesome. I was a SEGA fanboy up until a few years ago, when they let theirselves go. Mostly because their development has been turned towards arcades with consoles as a second priority.

And now finally, I am not trolling any boards. Stating my opinion. If SEGA copies Ultimate Destruction, then praise be to the almighty SEGA... but chances are, I don't see that happening.

All you've named is Sonic which is hardly what defines Sega as a games company. There were great games made by Sega before sonic and their continues to be great games made by Sega after sonic. Using one game as an example of a company going down is flawed logic indeed.

Second if you've been playing video games as long as i have than you would know that Sega were the first ones to actually make a decent superhero game in the form of SPIDERMAN on the genesis. I won't even begin to describe the arcade Spidey game was which was phenomonal . XMen weren't too bad either although i perfer the ones Capcom and konami came up with when sega did Spidey the superhero video games market was crowded with crappola from te many Accailm/LJN or whatever they were calling themselves Marvel games on the NES. Sega at least changed the course of that and everyone took notice at the time. So the HULK and the rest of the marvel games they have are indeed not only in good hands but hands that have experience in making good superhero games as well especially ones based on Marvel.
IRON MAN may well be crap but since you or i haven't played it than NO ONE can say the game is crap. You can say the game doesn't look great from the shots but you can't say for sure that the game is rubbish. The chances are that the fact that an japanese company with the legacy of sega sees fit to invest in american dev studio talent to create games from ALIENS to THOR i'm pretty much sure that all involved will up their game and make the best game they can when working for a company as famous as sega especially in the games industry since sega's works are respected and renenowed by all.

Either way it goes, I'm going to give this game a chance because we haven't even gotten enough to make a good judgement without the judgement being biased. For all we know this game could very well end up being better than "Hulk: Ultimate Destruction" which is something I'd love to happen. I want the Hulk to be able to be even more destructive in this game. I want him to be able to run even faster & to be able to jump even higher & farther. I would also love it if there were more villains for the Hulk to face & if there were more unlockables. Hell, they could even do something similar to "God of War II" by having an extra disc that shows how the game was created & shows how the characters were made, what concept art changes they went through, etc. If this game can surpass "Hulk: Ultimate Destruction", I'd be incredibly happy. It all depends on how much effort Sega puts into creating the game. If they half ass around & rush the game, it'll most certainly be crap. However, if they put a lot of work into the game & take their time, the game could be gold. Let's just hope for the best.

Well that's it isn't it. Ultimate Destruction didn't have to tie in with a movie so it had the luxury of time to plan and flesh out the engine and what not. Sega has to tie in with a film that going to be out within 10 months. So they won't have the proper time to make the game develop properly if anything the game will have been made under a 18 month period. So i kinda doubt if it will be better as UD but it depends how much of effort they put into it and if the idea for the game engine is better or not. They should have really gone to the guys that made the best HULK gamefor the movie instead of the guys who did Spider Man 64 on N64.Time will tell on this one.
