But the point is simply that, whoever starts it, it is being done way to often and for no reason in both locations. As I said before there is just NO reason to bring up either actor on the opposing board. Especially within the contexts that they are so commonly being brought up in.

Leave Welling here and Routh there is all.

Here's the deal.. if I feel the need to mention Welling in the movie forum in a response that is pertinent to whatever's being discussed, I will. I'm a little beyond being intimidated by Welling-haters. Now, what I won't do, is make a post specifically to "stir the pot" and rile up the Routh fanatics. If any mention of Welling stirs them up anyway, regardless of the context, that's really their problem and not mine.

As far as Routh being mentioned here, the same holds true. There are times when threads wander enough to warrant someone making a supportive comment about him. Whatever, I don't have a problem with opposing opinions.. witness the Lana discussions. It's the posters that ONLY make appearances here to ***** about how everyone needs to get in line and worship at the altar of Routh (like I give a **** how it's pronounced, btw) that are totally out of line.

But hey, fortunately for everyone, I'm not a moderator and I don't pick which posts stay or go. Neither are you, btw, and I'm not sure why you feel such a need to dictate what should or shouldn't be allowed here or there.

With all due respect Glenn, please don't tell us what we should and shouldn't post and where. Board etiquette is already spelled out in the site's TOS, and there are plenty of mods to keep users in line if they don't heed the rules. Besides, people will in all likelihood continue to poke harmless fun at the topics that amuse them, regardless of how other folks might feel about that. In the grand scheme of things, it's just not that big of a deal.

Wow two whole pages of gdw trying to analyze everyone and treat us like kindergardners yawn..... very boring. It also amazes me that Routh has fans. Fans from what a movie they will see in 2 years? It's one thing to be okay with the casting another to try and act like your a big Routh fan unless you've actually traveled to the future and have a freak'in clue.Just very weird. I ccan't imagine going back to when Smallville was cast and becoming a Welling fan before I'd seen him onscreen. Whatever.......

gdw, this ones for you: If you have a problem with someone bringing up Welling in the Movie forum, BRING IT UP WITH THEM THEN. It is so passive aggressive and annoying when people make general statements like, "You guys always bring up Welling. Why don't you guys just post over in the Smallville forum?" Who the heck is "you guys" or "the Welliingites" or "the Routh Haters?" Don't be a wimp. Just name names!!!

The wonderful thing is, that there really isn't that much of a "casting war." It's just one person will take issue with another person, on such and such a day, on such and such a thread. And instead of said poster having the guts to debate the issue with the other poster, they will create a grand melodramatic thread about how everyone is soooo negative. Then things will die down and two days later, the whole thing starts up again. If someone is annoying YOU, say something in the thread or PM them. Once people take it to the board and don't say who they are talking about, people take sides and the issue never gets resolved.

I'm just saying, next time someone brings up Welling in the Supes thread and you don't like it, for whatever reason, tell HIM so, instead of coming here, offending a whole segment of Superman fans who really don't know what specifically got your panties in a bunch.

Let me sum up: If you want someone to stop doing something, then tell them at the time they do it instead of moaning about it after the fact.

I don't usually have any problems with you, but you harping on this issue across several forums is actually not helping anyone. You're just making people testy...

Contradiction much? Most of your posts, despite your claims to the contrary, have primarily served to lay the blame with Tom's fans here in the Smallville forum - whether it was your intention or not, you've just proved Pat correct in the most blatant way:


I can only suggest that you quit your little game before you piss off a lot of people for fanning the flames further. This project of yours serves only to exacerbate the very thing that you claim to want to stop.

The first point was a mistake on my behalf based on my response to someone elses post. I ment the individuals who brought up Welling were supportive of Welling, just saying it is that rather then always the people who are not, although they do bring him up far too often themselves in the wrong forum as well.

I'm not going to go on a crusade and try t speak to everyone who brings up the irrelevent.

I was just curious to the extent to which it was occureing and after looking into I just think it is a bit obsurd and obsesive (re: also obsesed about by those who complain about Welling and Routh alternatively)

I was jst appealing to the rest of the baord to make an effort to minamize it as it is the cause of some of the biggest b!=c# fests on these boards.

Even when trying to talk about how it is out of hand at times it just creates hostility. I'm not saying that people didn't have a right to be hostile towards me as I am bringing up what I am talking about stopping bringing up. I just wanted to appeal to everyone to try to keep that from happening as it is very unnessicary.

I know it will continue to happen but it only takes a bit of effort to just ignore it a little more then we do and then it will cut down on the excesive discusion.

Just like we should all just ignore this now and especially the stupider things said (alot by me mind you typing before fully thinking, you do have to respond quickly sometimes though or you miss your chance)

Pithy is quite fitting when something is no longer worth real effort... your argument has changed so many times throughout this riveting long weekend that I doubt it even has a pillar; it's already fallen down around you.

My point has always been the same. That it is far too often that both actors were brought up and arguments resulting from that, when unnessicary.

Nothing has changed aside from it being brought to my attention that it is not exclusively those who frequent the Smallville boards who bring up Welling in the movie boards and also vice versa.

So in the end I learned something through all of this, definately not better spelling but I did learn something.

Hopefully soon the childish arguments will stop. Or atleast be igored by those who find the childish rather then those people always pipeing in just to say that they do find it childish and end with some more unneccisary insults or complaints.

Ignore it and it will deminish.

Oh, jas01724, I was always curious, and this is in seriousness, why is it that some of the less comon names are folloed by numbers, or other seemingly obscure characters?

I imagine why we would see a Superman, a Superman1, a SupermanCR etc; but why do some people have slightly more 'seemingly' obscure screen names?

I understand that there is sometimes some unknown reason that makes them less obscure, but just wondering?
