I know this is an old post but...what, there's an unaired pilot too? My memory of the first season of Smallville is very vague. Gosh is it that old?

Yes, there's an unaired pilot. Martha Kent was played by another actress and then they had to shoot all her scenes again with AOT.

not really, some scenes were staged a little differently and the music was a bit different, but thats about it.

They shot that moment, but it was cut out both in the unaired and the aired pilot.

It is quite ironic that fans do far better photshop, and without pay, then what the CW or Warners has done, professionally.

Well, photoshopping (especially of women) is pretty standard, isn't it? The fact that it's bad/obvious could just mean it was amateur hour in the promos dept.
