I wouldn't have thought that funny at all. I don't care how good lookin' he is.
That's why I said, what a d!ck! LOL! It's "funny" in retrospect, but I'm sure the mom was horrified. Still cracks me up though. I like his sense of humor - in a sick sorta way.

There've been several studies done that the more symmetrical a face is (and Tom's is very symmetrical), the more good looking it's considered.
I've seen those studies. Interesting, huh? I'm sure his eyes have something to do with it too, as babies focus on the eyes. And with Tom, you can't miss his or be transfixed by 'em.

I wouldn't have been very happy after this... I'm not sure what I would have done, but I wouldn't have thought it funny.
Eh, if it was clear that it was deliberate and that he wouldn't drop the real baby... maybe it's a male thing? ;)

Well, I am a mom and a very overprotective one at that.

That might have something to do with it, but the babies in this story are only a few weeks old.

I would have been scared to death for the health and safety of my brand new baby in the few moments before I realized it was the rehearsal doll. I may have laughed later out of nervous relief, but I still wouldn't have thought it funny.

Maybe Tom won't do that kind of thing once he has a kid or two. I can only hope.

I'm not quite sure how there'd be that kind of confusion, they usually tell the parents when they're bringing out the real baby - moreover, the parents are usually with them whenever they're not being used.

I know it's jumping to conclusions a little, but it sounds like mommy may not have been paying as much attention as she could have if she really thought it was anything other than the rehearsal doll. They're incredibly careful about that sort of thing.

Perhaps.

I have to think that it was not as big a deal as she maybe made it out to be. I can see a quick split-second.."whoops" with a big smile on his face kinda drop being okay.. as opposed to a full-staged, eye-popping, OMG! baby-dropping scene.

Wow. Good point....

You know I wouldn't have lost track of where my baby was. So, this joke probably wouldn't have worked on me. ;) :D

It's quite possible that you and I were coming from two different points of view, because I never thought that this woman believed he was dropping a real baby; I was working under the assumption that he was just goofing around with the doll and she didn't realise what he was doing. Which, again... pay attention!

It would still make you think twice just in case he could drop the real one, but it wouldn't be an "OMG MY BABY!" scenario.

And I'm sorry, but I think it IS funny.:p

Ok wait a minute she KNEW it was a doll. It freaked her out because she thought it was part of the scene. It's a little mean but I think it's funny. If she had thought it was her REAL baby that's different. She was upset thinking they planned on dropping her baby. Don't forget he does have two older sisters he's bound to be a bit of a brat.

I have 2 children myself and I couldn't help but smile at this sick little joke (tells ya something about me, huh?). On one hand you have Tom (known on the set as someone who can pull practical jokes from what I've read) dropping a baby doll in the hopes of getting the greatest reactions, then on the other hand you have Tom holding and cooing a real baby. I think this guy has compassion and a wonderfully wicked sense of humor. What a great combination!

LOL, I thought it was funny. She didn't think he was holding one of her babies (obviously she'd know where her babies are) she just thought it was part of the scene. He's not crazy, I doubt he'd want to give the woman a heart attack. And if it freaked her out, she wouldn't have commented on it and still called him a really nice guy:) And how adorable is it he seems to have a way with babies?

Oh, gotcha.... I was thinking she thought it was her baby for sec.

That makes more sense.

Phew! We can't have you mad at our little Tom :)

Yeah, I was thinking what kind of an ass is this guy? How could I have been so wrong?

:(

So, I'm happy now!

:D

As this is almost our little "community" thread, this is as good a place as any - a little story that amuses me. It might not amuse everyone, but that's tough.

I posted a video clip of DWSNBN on Gilmore Girls over on the Supes forum a couple of days ago, and without asking me, wonderful Batgirl who runs BR.com took it upon herself to post it up over there in an edited form. I noticed this, and politely asked her to credit me for it. Now the funny part: she's seemingly got such a complex that she couldn't bring herself to do that -- or to even answer my email :p -- and instead got someone else to cap it for her; and then she credited them.

It's so petty and pathetic that I'm currently laughing at her expense. What do you think it was, doesn't she like my avatar?

End of story.

That's really rude.

Why was crediting you such a big deal if she didn't feel it beneath her to use it without asking?

Weird...

Petty is the word.

Possibly not. I think Brandalf's adorable.. now that we've established that it's not a neanderthal (like I originally thought) :)

I've dealt with worse. It's not so much rude as it is childish...

Because I'm me, and on a Brandon Routh site my name is a curse!

She may have been sent it by someone else and not even realised who originally made it, and I gave her the benefit of the doubt on that in my email - the email that she pointedly never answered despite clearly conversing with a number of other people today. :p

PAT!

I think you need to petition for a bigger PM box. Dude.. seriously, you have too many friends. You might want to consider losing a few.

Not me though.
;)

Well, she is a child.

She's like 20, I thought. Still in college anyway. If she's that young, and I don't know her age for sure, it would certainly explain a lot.

Would it be too much if I admitted that Brandalf came about during a "discussion" with Jc? He was on one of his usual rampages about people with big noses, and I told him that BJ's nose would be perfect on Gandalf.

(Gandalf's nose was a prosthetic, by the way. BJ's isn't one. :D)

ROFL!

Ah well.. there are worse things than being persona non grata at a BJ site.

(lol..that sounds worse than I meant it.. but I'm leaving it because I'm a funny gal. :D)

You go, James.

Hey, I posted the fact that you had spoilers on a couple of different sites. You seen an increase in traffic on your site the last few days?

Just curious....

I'm only 20. Until June...

You're older than your years, my young James....

;)

(And I agree with Serene: please, don't tell me how old your mother is...)
