I made no such nostril comments in the thread or anything. You can't stand how I don't resort to your crap.
Anyone else notice the contradiction there?

A Tom Welling thread popped up in the SR forum, interestingly enough the thread is quite good as it shows the other side of things as well. As I said I'm up for discussing (no flame wars though, I don't work that way) as this thread so far is quite balanced imo.

Open invitation for whoever wants to join in. So far everyone is staying cool. Could it be this thread can squash the Welling-SR feud?
I can't even access this thread, so I don't know what's going on.

...wonder which one you're hoping for by posting that link here?
*sigh* Yeah, I posted over yonder around 7am ET this morning, and then the whole thread vanished within 45 minutes after that. Probably a good thing. I was completely BS, but it felt good to vent. I do hope the mod who deleted the thread read my post though, as well as clicked on all the links I provided within. These forums are *supposed* to be for superhero hype - you know, fictional characters - not bashing individual posters.

[Pat does her Ben Affleck impression from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back: Fictional characters, F-I-C-T-I-O-N-A-L characters. Am I getting through to anybody?]

Anyhoo, back on topic. I think there are a LOT of misconceptions of TW's actions and motivations for his professional decisions. I'm sure I hold a few myself. But what bugs me is when I see personal bias and assumption get translated into unadulterated fact. "He doesn't respect the character." "He's only doing it for the money." "He doesn't care about the fans." And the big one... "He never has nor does he want to be Superman." It's quite comical, actually. I don't feel the need to respond to any of these points for the umpteenth time. I think what Tom has done over the course of his acting career as well as what his friends and coworkers have said about him speaks for itself. Welling wasn't granted a following just because of a casting decision or good genes; he's EARNED his fanship the old fashioned way: hard work and dedication, one day at a time.

You know I totally agree with everything you said Pat. He stirs the pot way more by not saying anything. Mystery breeds curiosity and from there an obsession to know what he's thinking and doing. We can't stand not knowing exactly what's going on at all times so we make it up or interpret what little we know to ease our poor feeble minds. The only person who knows exactly what he is doing is the man himself. It's a genius career move not divulging and giving lovely little snippets like sitting back and letting it snowball on it's own. I'm not saying he sat down and devised a plan to make people obsess about him, but I think through his desire to keep his personal life and decisions private he kind of created this vortex of debate.

Now, I would like to state that I agreed with Pat of my own conviction and was not coerced or paid off in any means. The last time I checked I had a mind of my own. When it works it does seem to do quite well in forming opinions and at times not so bad at decision making. Okay, that said, kudos to those who post with the intent to spur debate or conversation and not to incite the masses.

That thread's been deleted.

Really?

I thought I had a good post or two in there defending the SV forums and Tom... I was going to check and see what happened in there after I logged off last night.

Oh, well...

I agree with you, Pat. Trying to guess Tom's motivations through the filter of anti-Tom bias turns into assumptions that aren't true. (I'm also agreeing with KikiDee that I am quite capable of forming my own opinions and do come up with some valid arguments of my own from time to time.... ;) )

Tom's got a lot of integrity and works extremely hard and is an excellent actor. Their loss if they can't see that or at least sit back and enjoy the show for the excellent and exciting piece of entertainment that it is.

Well I can agree with you, and that means that I'm not agreeing with Pat, right.:D

People need to stop stealing from James. Especially when they're too muppety to realise that he can always tell. The end.

I guess that's why he said he cant wait until he has kids so he can tell them that he once had this opportunity to play this really wonderful fictional character, Superman.

And how he thought it was really cool that Shaquiel O'Neil introduced him to his kids as Superman.

No he doesnt care about the character.

Why was the thread deleted? Last time I was in it everything was just fine.

:(

I'm sowwy... Thanks for the credit, btw... ;)

And if you're going to go stealing from someone, at least get what you're copying right! Otherwise you really are a complete moron.

Ruh roh... what I miss? Usual suspects again, James?

Avid, Trip, :)

BTW, nobody noticed the "labrat" image. :(
(I couldn't think of a good file name, and labrat just popped into my head for some reason. Weird, but somewhat appropriate considering how much he's "studied." Hee!)

Oh, I noticed....

Being the TC fan that I am believe me. I noticed.

I just got distracted by all the nonsense so I didn't say anything...

LOL! Too funny.

*ahem*

Sorry for laughing. Not laughing at you, just the situ. :D

Well, it wasn't so much the TC aspect as it was the comparison in physique between seasons. You know the drill. Just when you thought he wouldn't get any bigger... (much to poor James' chagrin.)

<-- Likes 'em beefy. LOL ;)

I know it wasn't the TC aspects you were highlighting, I was just teasing...

But Tom does look bigger but Memoria was nearly two years ago...

Me too!

:D

Tom looks chunkier. I've said before that he's lost a lot of definition, and he has put on weight ... I'm just not sure how much is muscles mass. *shrugs* And I'm also past caring. He is what he is, and as long as he doesn't balloon like Marlon Brando I'm sure I'll survive.

He's still very tight around the tummy area, and he has really long thin legs and a cute little butt :) , so I would say that the beefy upper portion is muscle.

Totally agree. He IS "chunkier." LOL Christian Bale was a LOT more beefy in BB than he was in American Psycho. In the latter film, he was more than just toned, he was RIPPED. But I liked him better in BB. It's part of that bulking-up process. Bulk is mass, which is both muscle and fat. Only hard core bodybuilders get that vascularized huge muscle look with little to no body fat. I don't think Tom has the kind of time to get that way, even if he wanted to. Physically, I think he's been getting more and more "perfect" every year for his role anyway. Whatever he's doing, it's working. Superman is a big, brawny character with a huge chest and powerful arms. Welling's got it down. :D

Hey, by the way if you haven't checked out the "Tom should have been Supes" thread, Jack Mercy actually posted today. Anyone for a run around the bushes?

I've given up trying to decipher Jack's posts. But it's always nice to have him pop in and say.. something, whatever it is. :D

I was just over at Ksite reading through the thread of quotes by the cast, a really really entertaining read if you have the time.

My question is tho, Michael Rosenbaum and Allison Mack both have official websites, I'm not sure about Kristen Kreuk. We all know that James has an unofficial webiste for Tom but why doesnt he have an official website.

I thought maybe he doesnt have the ego that the other two have.

Does anyone have an answer to this?
