What legal reasons?

Hasbro doesn't own the rights to 'Hot Rod'. They didn't own the names 'Jazz' or 'Ratchet' either. That's why the names of the toys were 'Autobot Jazz' and 'Autobot Ratchet'. I guess that applies to Hot Rod too. If they want to use him in the movie, they'd just have to name the toy 'Autobot Hot Rod'. I hope that's the case, as I really want him in the movie. He's too big a character not to be.

I'm sure someone will correct if I'm wrong, but I think that Hasbro has to give the go ahead for what names they can use in the movies.

I'm not a big fan of Hot Rod, but, if he's in, I won't complain. Bay knows how to make the characters interesting.

By the way, do we know anything about the Plot yet? From what I could gather, Megatron and the Decepticons launch a full-scale attack against Earth, which is already distrustful of the Autobots. And to make things worse, Shockwave and his own army come to our planet in search of a mysterious object the US government found on the Moon during the Cold War.

I really hope we are getting Ultra Magnus as the fire truck, and I hope he is as faithful as hell because he is a favourite of mine and Bay owes after killing off two of my favourite's already (Jazz and Jetfire)!

Wandered out to the Old Post Office last night to do some gawking and find the "Autobots Lot." First I saw Ratchet and Blue Mercedes parked by the Post Office:

They were driven off set as the Helicopter started doing repeated circles above. It appeared to be filming the top of the Post Office or maybe just some dramatic passing shots:

Then I went looking for the "Autobot Lot" and BOOM ... there was Optimus Prime:

Ratchet & the Twins:

Blue Mercedes, Silver Corvette (covered), Red Ferrari, Bumblebee & Optimus Prime's Trailer:

Later that night, I went back and saw they had cars packed away (Bumblebee, Corvette, Ferrari):

Headed back to the set to watch the Yellow Datsun on the bridge and cameras setting up at the entrance gate of the Dept. of Health and Human Services. Eventually, I headed up to a parking garage (13th Floor) to get a better vantage point. On the 14th Floor were some bright lights that they turned on later as the sun went down. Spotlights were on several buildings:

The Fire Truck showed up and was backed into the base but then never filmed or used (while I was there, at least):

Datsun did some test runs for a while with Shia's double doing the driving:

Then Shia and Rosie came out. You'll notice that Shia and his double are both wearing blue shirts:

They finally started doing some filming. Basically, it was repeated takes of the Yellow Datsun driving across the bridge and powersliding into the the front gates of the Dept. of H.H.S.:

Then they shot take after take of black clad guards stopping and inspecting the car as the Datsun eventually speeds into the base:

They just kept shooting scenes right at the front gate, shifting the camera and lights around, sometimes using some flashing red and blue lights for the scene. By that time, it was getting pretty late (12:15am) so I gave up seeing if they were ever going to film that Fire Truck that night. I might go out tonight to see what's up for their last night of shooting at the Post Office.

What? Because no one posted in response to your pics in 5 1/2 hours? This is a slow part of the forums, dude. I for one, really like the pics. Got some good close ups. I even noticed in the shot of Bumblebee by himself, you can see a second Camaro behind him. Same colors and everything.

Give the folks here some time. Also, take into consideration, you're posting pics of vehicles we've seen. Relax, dude.

Oh, I wasn't really being serious (perhaps a smilie face was in order).

No, I was just referring to the lack of discussions and decided to whine a little, that's all. Back in the "Dark Knight" days, people talked their asses off in here and it was great when people posted pics and then gave their opinions / speculations / debated. I guess a mediocre "Revenge of the Fallen" can be the main reason for a lack of frenzy.

Also, I just wanted an excuse to post that pic above. t: It's all good.

I hate to say it,but I think ROTF basically killed the excitement for Transformers 3 on the superhero hype permanently,hell even The Green Lantern,Thor,and The:First Avenger Captain America has a lot of posts from their movie sections. And The Dark Knight,Superman,and Spiderman movie sections.

I hate to say it,but I think ROTF basically killed the excitement for Transformers 3 on the superhero hype permanently,hell even The Green Lantern,Thor,and The:First Avenger Captain America has a lot of posts from their movie sections. And The Dark Knight,Superman,and Spiderman movie sections.

I'd imagine that there will be a spike in activity when we get some trailers. And it'll definately peak when the movie actually hits theaters next July.

my only reason for thinking it could be Grimlock is that the fans have been screaming for the Dinobots since before the first movie... and Nelson's comments about the fans fainting when they hear the name....

Personally, I feel the same way, and I don't think I would have that big of a problem with it. Ultra Magnus being a firetruck isn't that outlandish of an idea so I think that could cause a huge uproar.

But then again, there's the rumor floating around TFW that it's Rodimus Prime and he'll be Optimus' father. Taking it with a gigantic grain of salt, but I'd have to join the uproar if that's the case.

Also what do you guys think of there seemingly being 2 bumblebees on set? It wouldnt surprise me if it was his little brother or something...
