It's called a spare. If anything, it implies that BB's alt-mode is going to get messed up. Let me explain. Take a movie like Fast and Furious. There were like 3-4 of just about every car in that movie. This way they had one for the cruising scenes, one for the racing scenes, and one they could trash.

As for the Twins thing, there's a silly theory I've read that

the Twins actually bite it in the film and the 2 vehicles are a Decepticon disguise and when combined in robot mode, they become Shockwave.

Again, it's probably just fan nuttyness so "grain of salt" territory here.

I don't think that second is Bumblebee...how could he get smaller? That would be like Optimus changing from a truck to a Kia. Plus the license plates are different.

So, does Sam just buy a crappy Datsun since he doesn't want to roll with Bumblebee anymore or what? But then paints it similar to Bumblebee's paint job (yellow with 2 black racing stripes) while hanging the little discoball and bee from his rearview mirror? If it's not suppose to be Bumblebee, it sure is seriously implied.

As for the size change, I think Transformers can morph to any size they want in the Bayverse. Case in point: A) the Allspark transformed from a hanger-filling box to a basketball-sized cube, B) Frenzy's big head reduced to a small cell phone to hide in Megan Fox's purse, C) If the rumor is true, then

the remote-controlled truck Wheelie from ROTF ends up being the Blue Mercedes in TF3.

Regardless if C) is true, I think the Datsun IS Bumblebee ... to truly be "disguised" (for a change).

The allspark is all powerful...it is the giver of life. Frenzy's body was gone, his head was all that remained so him going from a boom box to his head becoming a cell phone is not all that crazy. The only way I will accept Wheelie becoming a bigger car is if his mind is put in another car. He can't physically go from an rc toy to a full blown passenger car and if that were to happen...I would say it was a plot hole.

I could understand if the Datsun had the exact same license plate but it doesn't so I don't think it is Bumblebee. Does Bumblebee have a younger brother or perhaps an evil counterpart??? I don't know enough about Transformers lore.

I heard that all these things were true, that

Wheelie IS the Einstein-looking bot/Blue Mercedes. He's just more detailed and bigger now that he's got more room for a more defined head.

Again, that's rumor, not fact. Just throwing out what I've heard. Could be COMPLETELY false.


As for the Frenzy/Cell Phone thing, chaseter, I disagree. There's some SERIOUS size differential from Frenzy's Head w/ mechanical legs to a tiny cell phone. Check out this effects video at the 1:13 mark and tell me it's not a major size change. (Hell, look how big that drink machine gets comparatively at the end):

Now, take that into consideration when comparing the car sizes:
- 1968-73 Datsun 510 (roughly 13.6 ft long x 5.11 ft wide x 5.5 ft high)
- 2011 Chevy Camaro (roughly 15.8 ft long x 6.3 ft wide x 4.5 ft high)

This ends up being a 2.2 ft x 0.4 ft x 1 ft difference in size. Not that big a jump in thinking if transmorphing is the norm for these movies. That cell phone was WAY smaller than Frenzy's head. So, why not a car a bit smaller than another?

As for the different plates, that's the easiest part to change, don't you think? Bumblebee morphed from a crappy old Camaro to a newer version in the 1st movie. Who says he didn't change plates when he morphed into the Datsun he scanned?

Again, I haven't any proof of anything and if it ends up not being Bumblebee I'll say "Oh Well" and move on. I'm just looking at all of the clues given and making a logical assumption for s***s and giggles.

Went out to LaSalle Bridge to see what was filming today and there wasn't much action ... except for Shia.

Walked down LaSalle (from the North) where it's blocked off at Kinsie, then walked around to the other side of the river (South) to get some shots along Wacker. Basically, they were filming soldiers walking back and forth on the bridge filled with rubble and debris. Shia and Rosie were out there, too:

Since it was hard to watch anything from ground level (and the P.A.'s kept moving people along) I decided to try heading up to higher ground and figured the Merchandise Mart a block west on the river would be my best bet. I was able to look down on the bridge with soldiers standing around as they set up for more filming. Turns out, I was just in time for some Shia and Rosie kissing scenes:

Went back down to the street and got some closer smooching shots from the next bridge over (Wells St. Bridge):

Walked past one last time on Wacker, then up Clark Street to get some soldiers, crew and camera crane shots:

No Autobot cars were spotted nor were there any big booms. Maybe there'll be more later tonight.
