How can Shockwave be the main villain if Megatron is in this movie?

In the comics, Shockwave is usually portrayed as being just as powerful as Megatron. As a matter of fact, he took control away from Megaron in the old Marvel Comics series and was more the main villain there than Megatron ever was.

Plus, there was a storyline that Dreamwave did a couple of years, back when they owned the comics rights to Transformers, that had Shockwave taking over Cybertron in the absence of Optimus and Megatron. Which I'd be willing to bet some money will be adapted to a certain extent in TF3.

Yea in TF3 we will probably get to see Cybertron a little more properly.

Starscream will most probably be killed by either Megatron or Shockwave. If he gets killed by Shockwave, that will be kinda cool because then Megatron would fear him

I never understood why Megatron couldn't be a gun in the movies. He doesn't have to shrink and be used by Starscream; he could transform into a gun and still be massive in size, like a giant bazooka.

They changed so many other things in the movies, why couldn't they change Megatron in a way that adapts him to live-action that remains faithful to what he originally was?

I don't know. I hear some people say Megatron could never work as a gun in live-action, but he could easily. I just said how in my second sentence.

Because he'd still need someone to operate him. And that's kinda lame.

I think that G1 Megs was a gun because they wanted to give kids the message that "guns are bad, MKAY?"
That doesnt make it cool though.

Why would he need someone to operate him? Why couldn't he transform into a giant gun/lazer/bazooka etc.. and just blast things himself?
Why do people limit what Megs can and cannot do if he were a gun, meanwhile every other Transformer gets away with all these changes and they can do anything?

Like I said, there were many changes made.....SO why not have Megs transform into a gun and if they need to change anything change his size (keep him massive) and he can operate himself. There's absolutely nothing difficult with doing that at all. I have no idea why ppl think that's impossible to do when we've seen these robots do many impossible things already.

So he'd be a giant gun floating around shooting things? Turning him into a tank was probably one of the better ideas, because at least he's mobile.

It's not like it's the first time Megatron has been a tank or a jet either.

^Exactly, in plenty of runs he has been a tank, and occasionally a jet, personally I hope they keep him exactly as he was ROTF.

People always focus on G1 and forget that there have been many incarnations of TF.

In the making-of doc on the first Transformers DVD I think the writers addressed this issue and said Megs turning into a gun was kinda stupid. It would be something like if Darth Vader turned into a lightsabre and had someone else swing him around.

Tbh I have no problem with him turning into a gun, or a big cannon, or the alien jet and tank he is now.

Give Megatron an earth mode, that way they can alter the appearance of his robot mode to look more like his G1 counterpart.

It seems like movieverse Megatron would rather die than take on an Earth mode. Everything about us disgusts him.

Well... he HAS died 2 times already

Wont it be cool if Unicron was buried under the Earth

Uh, YEAH. Or he doesn't even need to "fly" around. He can just position himself into the ground and blast the **** out of everything. It's not like he's not free to transform into his other mode afterwards. I still fail to see why this idea is so hard to comprehend.

Turning him into a tank is fine, but he was a tank for what, 6 seconds?

TF2 certainly messed up the "Robots in disguise" part of the story....

Anyone else work on or was in this film? Maybe i missed something. But im curious to see if any other SHH members were extras or crew?

i watched some set pics.

did i saw Sam with a robotic glove on hes hand ?

he had something..... only theories floating around atm on what it was...

I rather not no too much about the plot.... I knew about Optimus's death, Alice the decepticon and everything before I went into TF2, really took away some of the surprise

TROLL!!! probably full of virus' as well.... not a chance in heck that there's a trailer around
