Does anyone have a HD Download link??
We tried to learn from the second movie. On the second movie we got burned. We had a writers strike, we had to agree on a story in three weeks, and then we knew they were going on strike. It was a ****ed scenario all the way around, it wasnt fair to the writer, it wasnt fair to me, it wasnt fair to anybody. It was still an entertaining movie, but I think we failed on certain aspects. What we did with this movie is I think we have a much better script, and we got back to basics. I think theres some really cool action on this movie, theres some very cool conspiracy, theres great robot stuff in this that people were missing in the second one, youve got great robot conflict. So Im excited about this movie. Its more serious. I got rid of the dorky comedy, I mean weve got two little characters, thats it, but the dorkiness is not there. Dork-free Transformers. Its much more serious. Its still entertaining, its big looking.
My take on this movie was that I wanted to make the fighting a lot more personal. In the past two movies the cavalry has always came in, this time the cavalry isnt coming. Its black hawk down, a small group; theyre ****ed. It makes it more intimate.

It'll be much more serious? Haha! This is no Hurt Locker or anything.
It's all lies anyway to fool the fanboys one last time.
However the teaser was beautiful. It could be trailer for a very serious science fiction movie but then "TRANSFORMERS" & "MICHEAL BAY" appears and we realized that Unicron would have farted but strangely did not.
neither was G1
maybe if bay said the opposite, what fan boys actually accuse him of, then we'd all be happy. (my crap makes money, and studios would what ever I want so screw you all)
how many farts were there between prime and megatron...
I fail to see how the transformers movies are any more lighthearted than most summer fare.
I agree that there is a direction the films could take that would be strong genre sci-fi, but people need to stop actiong like the producers of this movie failed at trying to do that. Just as we don't compared something about mary to blue valentine. It's a bloody successful action comedy for the kids that watch saturday morning toy commercials.
The movie is heavily marketed towards kids; just look at Nick and CN channels; there are toy commercials galore for TFs when they movies were out, but the potty humor is very inappropriate for kids. The farting, sure but all the sexual innuendo....?
There is a difference between lighthartedness and stupidity. Transformers may not be Hurt Locker, but it also isn't American Pie.
The movies are about giant transforming robots. Humping and farting does not make sense in this movie's context.
It's all about execution, Marvin. Just because you can make it light hearted doesn't automatically exempt it from 'quality control'.
I think many people can agree that the first film was fine; it struck a decent balance between drama, action, and comedy. But the second one was excessive to the point where it was obnoxious.
It's like movies such as Tron Legacy, POTC, STAR TREK and all Pixar films don't exist.
All summer/action movies that everyone can watch and enjoy
I don't remember the scene where Spock urinates on Nero.
Or Jack Sparrow exclaiming, "Oh dear! That's the Kraken's scrotum!"
The Pixar films are a cut above the rest especially UP and WALL-E which aren't too light
Why does Transformers stoop so low? Why EPIC MOVIE as opposed to Iron Man?
In fact, these movies should have the tone and style of THE MATRIX if anything.
Pop philosophy with the whole Autobots are workers/emergency vehicles while the Decepticons are the oppressive militaristic government
Has anyone heard any rumors as to how they are going to explain Mikaela's absence? Was she killed by the 'Cons or was it just a simple breakup? Please don't go off on a tangent about how much Megan sucks as an actress (which she does), but I'm just talking about her character. I really hope they do explain what happened to her.
Do you happen to have a link?it's adressed in the collider report
good read.
I see what you people are saying, in a way I agree, but I aslo see the other side and that is that who are we to decide if one direction is better than another when it comes to the success of a film. Would BEVERLY HILLS COP be a "better" film if it was treated more like HEAT? Would TROPIC THUNDER be a better "film" if it were PLATOON. Sure there is an artistic and critical arugment to be made that all film needs to handle tone a certain way for, but the deciding factor is that films are made for the general public. The same public that eats mcDonalds when they could find french cuisine for the same price if they looked hard enough...I digress
To answer your question I will simply do what they do on the comic forums. Use reference.
Beast Wars. (Arguably) The best incarnation of the fmaterial to date. It elevated the material and constantly engaged us with a twisty and tremendous ongoing plots. However the producers of the show never missed an opportunity to inject the show with tonal range. We had the character deaths, yes even optimus died and came back to life within a matter of days, and then we had this cilp.

yes, villian defeated by way of a fart.
Now, as annoying as bay's fart jokes are, If he actually had a conflict resolved by way of passing gas, there would probably be mass suicides on the nerd front. Bays films have plenty of tonal range (which is why most of them make as much money as they do). Transformers has it's dark moments and it's very light ones. Ironman has plenty of sexual and potty moments and the audience laugh it up, however I'm sure the augument could me made that the humor works against the tone and drama.
You ask why include the jokes at all? The simple answer, look to the souce material. (never thought I'd include that in a bay defense) The series also often had the female characters using the charms and sexual inuendos to achieve their goals and I'm sure there were a few cheap shots to characters groins here and there...but robots having human genetialia along with their human faces is a long stretch i'm sure.
Do you happen to have a link?
That has always made me laugh, the Iron Man movies have plenty of sexual jokes an inneuendo's regarding sex and sexual acts yet people praise the humour in them, TF movies do the same and get slated cos its Bay.
