The Official Twisted Metal Thread

It's a good game, I love the franchise. Story is weak, as always, the controls take time to get used to but its enjoyable. My biggest complaint is no vertical co-op display or Deathmatch only horizontal screens. I remember that was an option on two and three I believe. I am enjoying this game a lot and will continue to play, haven't gone online but I'm sure it's fun. I kinda miss the individual characters and the original characters, the gangs are kinda cool but I liked Axel being you know...Axel and so on and so forth, these are just minor gripes though. Lots of trophies and unlockables which is great and honestly it really retains the fun of the original concept. Now I just want a new version of Vigilante 8.

The Live action cutscene are scary. Resident Evil Should return to that style.

I love them. One review I read complained about them and I was going into this not expecting to like it but wanting the 3D ones from Black, but I think the cutscenes work well here

I picked this game up yesterday but only now starting to play it. It comes with a manual! Those seem to be rare these days but TM has one with some meat to it and it reminds me of the old days.

I think they could tone down the speed just a little bit. It almost makes it hard to control and see whats going on bc the cars go so fast

Finally got around to playing this, and it's pretty awesome. There is some frustrating little nicks and knacks that should've been improved (**** whoever thought auto-aimming was good, **** them so much!), but for the most part I feel like the gameplay of TM has aged pretty well. I've not got to go online yet, but I will soon.

Though, I have to say, I'm really disappointed that we only have three characters. The cutscenes and stories are, like, the best of the series, or at least on par with Black. And the series has basically been on hiatus from consoles for nearly a decade...and we only get three characters? That's just ******. It's not enough to make me dislike the game, but it needed a lot more in that category.

I thought the game had gangs instead of characters.

They do for online, I think, but the single player is pretty much the standard kind of thing for the series. You play a character's POW during the tournament.

I hate that. I liked that each car had its own unique driver with their own backstory and purpose for being in the game. I dont like that they did away wtih that and the cars are now generic with no distinct personality behind them

agreed, I missed all the different drivers. I've only played coop story with a friend, anyone know if its just the sweet tooth missions on coop or is there more?

You play through all three characters in co-op

Just bought this game today. IT SUCKS. And for one reason: the impossibly hard difficulty. The controls and everything else are fine, but they didn't have to make this game SO ****ING HARD. Hell, even on NORMAL, the easiest difficulty they HAVE, it's frustrating! Good thing I kept the receipt for this, cause I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I won't stand for such ******** difficulty that could've been EASILY fixed, and this is coming from a guy who hardly EVER complains about difficulty.

2/10 (was worth a try, but REALLY too hard. What a waste of $60 GameStop store credit.)

Did you ever play the series before? Twisted Metal tended to be fairly hard. I'm playing around with Black and it's probably about the same difficulty, if not a little more, than the new one. But, really, demoting a game all the way to a 2/10 just for difficulty? That's pretty ridiculous, especially when it's not that damn hard. The only big problems I had was with the races.

I FINALLY got past the Juggernaut level. Man was that part hard and its still very early

I've always loved the TM games for Ps1 and onwards, but I was a bit skeptical looking at e3 vids of this new one from a year or so ago. It looked less dark than Black did. Am I wrong? is the single player campaign good? does the pope s#!t in the woods?
