The Dark Knight Rises The Official Twitter Feed Thread

also, for those who do not know much about twitter (myself included), anyone who has some pointers on how to use Twitter and follow the feeds, hashtags, mentions, whatever post on here too. this will be a great tool if SHH crashes once news is flying around... or virals are launched.

I've been on twitter since 2008 - so hopefully I can offer some tips.
1. #anythingfollowing a number sign without spaces is an instantly searchable phrase (as you probably know at this point)

2. @username -- this is called your handle

3. using @someonesuser name in a tweet is called an "@reply"

4. Starting out a tweet with an @reply only shows up in the your newsfeed as well as anyone following you AND the person you @replyed.

5. If the person you @replyed is following you, it will show up in their newsfeed. If they are not, it will show up in their "Mentions"

6. if you want to @reply someone, but also allow all of your followers to see it, you can add a character right before the @reply. Such as .@reply

7. you can only direct message someone you follow, who is also following you

8. There are a few ways to retweet (RT).
a. use the built in retweet feature of twitter.
Pro - the stats are tracked in twitter.
Con
- This may or may not show up on followers newsfeeds. If they are using a third-party twitter app, it might not
b. use RT: @reply
Pro
- This allows all of your followers to see the retweet, regardless of what twitter-app they are using.
Pro
- You can add text before hand, or after (if you add it after one easy way to differentiate is to follow the retweet text with "// your text..."
Con
- This uses up more characters because it includes the RT: @reply toward your 140 character count
c. share text followed by (via @reply) This has similar Pros & cons as the RT: method

9. other than that, I would recommend using a third-party app. I am partial to hootsuite. it's free and it allows me to save/view searches more easily than regular twitter

Hope those are some helpful tips for those new to twitter

I haven't tweeted anything #dkrshh yet - but if you want, my handle is @deb_wa

Just a few corrections:

6. All of your followers see your reply tweets. You don't have to add any special characters to them

7. You don't have to follow someone to Direct Message them, but they have to be following you

I think that all of your followers Can see/Have access to your @replys. But unless they are following you & the person you @replied, it does not show up in their personal main newsfeed. They would have to click on your timeline to see it.

Regarding number seven. Thanks! I just learned something new. :)

No, it goes into their scrolling feed as well and therefore your followers see it.

EDIT: You're welcome :)

People chased from Wollaton Park, the crew deny they're the crew - Lots of Batman stories in 5 mins on BBC Radio Nottingham

From today's show on BBC Radio Nottingham...I'm told there are 300 people on the Batman set each day at Wollaton Hall!

Also, the mystery over pumping water onto the Wollaton Hall roof is solved - it's for a Batman storm scene...

Micheal Caine and Morgan Freeman were on set yesterday afternoon and evening at Wollaton Park too. They're doing a Garden Party scene

Garden Party scene?

Batman storm scene????

:awesome:

I'm laughing at the thought of Alfred and Lucious having their own little garden party for two. :funny:

So another party scene, I guess that's two parties in this movie then.

Yup there's two - garden party at the manor and the museum ball at the Gotham Museum.

Alfred and Lucius party while the kids are away. :awesome:

Lots of child extras arriving at Nottingham's Wollaton Hall for Batman filming....

That'll explain the school bus.... if there is a 'garden party' as previously stated.... then the kids are there for that

What the heck is a Batman storm scene? Sounds pretty awesome, whatever it is.

Yup, sort of a charity event for underprivileged, orphan kids; Bruce invites his wealthy friends ala Harvey Dent fundraiser

Miranda Tate brings her Daughter

I think it's just a storm; they have a party, it rains during the party, Selena has an excuse to stay over

Ya, that fundraiser party for kids idea sounds like that's what's going to happen, or at least something along those lines.

Didn't Black Mask Blow up a children's hospital in some comic; leading Selena to seek revenge against him?

Look who arrived at Wollaton:

From 30 Rock? I think he means 3rd Rock from the Sun.

All that sounds really cool to me. I think Bruce becoming a philanthropist is perfect for this movie.

If you think about it, in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, the careless playboy persona was created almost sorerly because it would avert suspicions that Bruce Wayne = Batman.

Batman was trying to save the city, whilst Bruce Wayne as far as people knew was clowning around. But now that Batman is taking the fall for Harvey Dent's killings, and has become seen as a menacing selfish vigilante of sorts as opposed to the hero Gotham thought he was, it's perfect now for Bruce Wayne to switch from the playboy persona to a philanthropist like his father, because that will make the people of Gotham like Bruce Wayne and foil any suspicion of them suspecting he's the "deranged" Batman.

It reminds me a bit of that scene at the end of Begins "Batman may have made the front page, but Bruce Wayne got pushed to page 8", maybe we can finally see the table turns between the two personas, and it would be great for Bruce Wayne's characterization to be doing these things at any rate. But this should probably be posted in the General Discussion & Speculation thread, I'm being a bit irresponsible here :oldrazz:

On a side note, Raganork, is your name supposed to be 'Ragnarok'? That was the name of the airship in FFVIII if I remember rightly, that should also be SeeD 'Veteran' in your member title :oldrazz: Just an observation, sorry for being a grammar/spelling nazi, and sorry for going off topic.

Awesome, I wonder if he's gonna be there for the rumoured Police Raid on Wayne Manor.

That's interesting indeed. Maybe it's a GCPD fundraiser for kids and Bruce offered to hold it at his home.

Awesome, I wonder if he's gonna be there for the rumoured Police Raid on Wayne Manor.

It's a deliberate play off the word Ragnarok; there were a lot of people with that name; I've been using this handle for probably over 10 years now.

It is the name of the ship in VIII it's a Sword in all the others and an entity in XIII

It's from Norse mythology, akin to the apocalyptic battle.

Thanks for the spelling thing in my title, I hadn't noticed it!

Also; please refer to my idea about Selena being outed at Bruce Party before his eyes.

dragon_316ca, you're on a roll this morning! Nice finds!

I hope the mods re-open the Info Hunters thread, there seems to be lots of info trickling in this morning.

I love the idea of this garden party with the children. Interesting bit about who's there as well. I have no idea what JGL could be doing there. Maybe it's for GCPD kids? Odd but interesting.

Darkhunt, I'll quote your post here about the philantrophist Bruce but answer at the Discussion and Speculations thread.
