What I want for the third movie??? Just as dark, just as brutal, and just as freaken intense as Dark Knight!... and I know that's a tough task.

I want HUSH as the villian.

I think it would fit the storyline well. Hush and Catwoman.

I didn't wanna make a whole new thread for this, but I figured there's no harm in asking in here.

What could make the third movie be actually BETTER than Dark Knight is? (I mean freeaken ****ing seriously, can it be done!???)

Wayne Manor, a fully functioning batcave, and a boat. The boat would be perfect for being able to escape the police as well as get to Gotham quickly. It would also help with navigating the interior of Gotham and the Narrows with all the canals going through the interior of Chicago.

Dude, they had all that in "Batman Returns":woot: That doesn't make for a better movie though.

They had a ski-boat in Returns that traveled in the sewer. They had another boat in Forever, but it was quickly destroyed. I'm picturing a Tumbler-like boat/hovercraft.

I'm sure a new BatCave will be featured, so I won't list that.

I do want to see a lengthy, gritty and brutal fight scene like the MUD PIT fight sequence in Millers graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns.

Now that would be awesome to see onscreen!

I also want to see Batman use more of his ninja style weapons more when fighting or running from the cops. I want to see more Batarang action and smoke bombs used and see him coming from the shadows more like in BB.

Lets see Batman become more eery, creepy and brutal like in BB.

Great thread so far people, awsome ideas.

What i'd love to see; A gang war between Gothamite Oswald Cobblepott and 'freak' gang leader Black Mask.
A new Batmobile. A new Bat signal. Gordon arriving in his office, Batman shrouded in the darkness ala the animated series.
More intellectual Batman. More fight-scenes. Graveyard scene Waynes parents.

I'd fricking love to see a new Bat-cave with artefacts from Batmans encounters; Dents 2-sided coin, Joker's potato pealer and cards, Crane's mask, League of Shadows gauntlets etc.

A cerebral threat: The Riddler
Minor conflict: turf war between Black Mask and Killer Croc

I think there's a pattern from TDK that can be rolled over into the 3rd movie: the part of TDK involving tracking down Lau and the organized mob can be used in this one to cover the war between Mask and Croc; Joker/Two-Face time can be applied to the Batman-Riddler conflict.

There, a way to at least have a movie on par with TDK.

They really did shoot their wad with TDK, both two face and joker?? Ra's already done, those three are pretty much the big three villains, anything else would feel like a bit of a letdown. I guess riddler would work but they would hafto really find a story and characterization to really knock it out of the park. Since they won't out epic TDK they might as well make the 3rd film a more character driven intimate film and try to outclass tdk that way, because i don't know how they can effectively expand the scale of the second without making it fall flat on it's face.

Sharkboy, they could easily make it more "epic" than TDK and a more character driven piece; as I suggested an ongoing war between Killer Croc and Black Mask with Gotham's streets turned into warzones where innocents die every day and the cops are being killed and hanged for dead by one of the members of either Mask's or Croc's gangs (as an homage to the Hangman from Dark Victory). The central conflict amid all of this would be the conflict between Batman and the Riddler.

Jeez isn't this supposed to be a pg-13 film?? I like your idea though, but it sounds a bit convoluted, if you are going to have three major villains with their own arc's. Last film i remember that did that was called spider-man 3. Personally if they tried to make it any more epic than TDK they would hafto be very carefull it dosen't turn into another spider-man 3 and just end up half arsed and empty.

Stuff like Wayne Manor I'll take as read, of course it'll be back.

What I really would like to see is Batman out on patrols, accosting random thugs. All his encounters so far have been specifically targeted criminals.

If you look at how the two previous films were structured in terms of villians, it seems Nolan will do a mixture of known villain with obscure villain.

Not saying they were obscure to the fans who have been following the comic forever, but Ra's, Scarcrow, and Falcone were pretty unknown to the general audience when Batman Begins was released. In contrast, Nolan went with the two biggest in The Dark Knight. Personally, you can't top those two guys. How do you move forward in a third film?

Personally, I think they have to be linked to Bruce Wayne and Batman for it to be the right story. Right now, if he does a mixture of known with unknown along with the villains having some connection to our guy, you could easily see Nolan doing Black Mask and Catwoman or Hush and Catwoman.

The Riddler is the wild card just because of the nature of who he his and who Nolan is as a filmmaker. With riddles and puzzles, cinematically, the Riddler falls in line with Nolan's Memento, Insomnia, and The Prestige.

I think there will be three villains in the film with the Scarecrow being the obvious third (a lengthier cameo than the Dark Knight). I just got a feeling that Hush and Catwoman are the next villains.

I also wouldn't rule out Taila just yet...but she seems like a long shot.

My one fear: Michelle Pfeifer's Catwoman. It's iconic. It's the greatest female part in the history of comic book films in cinema. I'm not saying it can't be beat but it's going to be really, really, really hard. Michelle's just owns that role, in the way Ledger now owns the Joker. How and who can top Michelle?

I'd love to see a more "out there" Batman movie but i dont think Nolan will ever go there so maybe we'll get one in the future.

Anyway, apart from more "comic booky" villains like Firefly, Dr Phosphorus, Spellbinder, Mr Freeze, the Terrible Trio (Fox, Vulture, Shark) etc i'd love to see some of Batman's evil analogues like Owlman, or Wrath, especially the former. I've had my dose of realism and i'm ready for something more.

Holy s**t that is quite a list of terrible villains to consider for live-action films. :funny:

What can i say, I like b-listers. To be honest i only know Wrath from a "The Batman" episode, but he was really good in that.

As for Owlman, dude, he is a great villain!

Hi guys, new here :yay:

I'd like to see a scene that takes place a few years after TDK, where Bruce and Alfred are talking in the batcave, and in their discussion, a whole bunch of villains are mentioned either as after-thoughts, or who's locked away, or who's still at large, etc

I'd like to see the Batmobile and the Bat Cave... :D

Not necessarily--in regards to 3 major baddies with their own arcs--the Croc/Mask could be a simple mobster vs mobster sort of thing that would occupy the same amount of time the Mr. Lau/organized mob pre-Joker occupied in TDK. Or the Falcone/Crane stuff from BB. There could even be a bit of dialogue telling us that its something that popped up at some point between BB3 and TDK.

I really don't think they would have a problem with my Gotham as a Warzone idea; they did some pretty risky stuff with TDK and it was pretty much praised all around.

I'd love to see that as well. Batman out on a night watch taking out petty thieves and other low-level thugs. With Batman no longer working with the police it would be a good opportunity to show him doing that, since he wouldn't have the freedom or help to pull off articulated attacks on the higher-ups of the criminal world like he's been doing.

One solid story instead of a bunch of disparate parts. I don't want this film to fall into threequel syndrome. This needs to be a concise movie, not something with 90 characters.

I'm not saying necessarily a 1 villain movie, but as X-Men, Spider-Man and Iron Man sequels have shown, bigger is not always better.

The funny thing is, both of Nolan's Batman movies have had more characters than these movies, perhaps with the exception of the X-Men films. Nolan can handle his characters extremely well.

Well judging from the previous movies Nolan might have three/four villains. A main villain. A mob villain. A side villain. And maybe a small cameo for another one.

BB

Main Villain - Ras
Mob Villain - Falcone
Side Villain - Scarecrow
Cameo Villain - Zsasz

TDK

Main Villain - Joker
Mob Villain - Maroni
Side Villain - Two-Face
Cameo Villain - Scarecrow

Batman 3(Just my predictions)

Main Villain - Riddler
Mob Villain - Black Mask
Side Villain - Catwoman
Cameo Villain - ?

I guess I wouldn't mind a lot of villains as long as it's done well. While it's true that Nolan's Batman has been great so far, even the Godfather fell to the threequel curse...if The Godfather can, anything can.
