Damn, we were close to getting an answer from Rourke on Jonathan Ross! Ross asked him about him doing The Expendables, and Rourke says "Actually, the way it's worked out, I'm only doing a day of shooting for The Expendables, because I...", then Ross cut him off by going on a sidetrack about Jason Statham, and they haven't returned to the topic.

I would of thought Ross would of asked him about Iron Man seeming as his a Marvel fanboy. Perhaps they cut it from the show. Its cool that Stallone paid Rouke out of his own pocket to be in the Get Carter remake even though the film was terrible.

LOS ANGELES - Mickey Rourke might not have won the Best Actor statue, but the actor was still the talk of the town after the awards show. The subject, however, was his next role.

According to some Hollywood insiders, Rourke is on a very short list for a lead role in “Iron Man 2.” “He's proven himself a sentimental favorite, which will be good for the box office, and it's a little-known fact that he trains with a martial arts master in L.A.” said one source.

Another person who has trained with Rourke said, “Mickey often credits martial arts with saving his life. He's made it clear that getting to act in a film that channels this would be phenomenal for him. He's said he'd definitely do the film.”

Jesus, just let the chips fall. This is the problem with the internet and movies in particular: Whenever "news" trickles in such as Rourke or EMily Blunt being in talks for Iron Man 2, the news websites race to post the news so it can appear that it may be a scoop for them. When in reality, it may not even be a done deal.

Then you get people *****ing about how "marvel dropped the ball" or that so and so is dropping out of the movie.

That's what I say. These things happen all the time but we usually never hear about it. But these sites are really getting overzealous now with their scoops or nonscoops for that matter.

I think he will... Rourke is just trying to get more money, but the way he talks, looks like he will sign anyway. Looks way too pleased with the attention (and the Wrestler won't be on the spotlight forever)
