So are Whiplash and Crimson Dynamo 2 diff characters? I know squat about Whiplash.
In the comics yes. In this they are reportedly meshing the two into one

Really, they are using some of the traits of CD in Whiplash, because i think down the line they might want to use another villain with the CD or Titanitum Man style armor.
http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118001114.html?categoryid=1350&cs=1Rourke also met with Jon Favreau and scribe Justin Theroux and got to be part of the development of his character. He'll play Whiplash, a character that includes elements from that comicbook villain and Crimson Dynamo, another Russian baddie.
I like it as a possible "Mark I" design, but I do hope it evolves as the film goes on.
It will. This suit design is awful just from a realism standpoint. This guy wouldn't last a minute with Iron Man.
how is it awful from a realism standpoint? if you're going for a realistic translation of the whiplash/blacklash then that pic is as close as you get without the gimp mask. i think you might be looking for a more surreal realism(not a typo) look. realistically what we saw is it. a more surreal take would be adding excess armor to it, which would be cool.
A majority of his body is exposed. One giant hit or blast from Iron Man and hes finished. Remember he is not superhuman. He needs armor if you want to see a good solid battle between the two. Its realistic as a first design...not realistic for a big fight sequence with Iron Man.
