Iron Man 2 The Official Whiplash Thread

^I'm the same way with origin stories(especially ones I'm familiar with) and that's probably why I prefer say, BB to TDK. I'd been waiting since the 1970's to see Iron Man's origin on screen in all it's glory and after AngHulk botched the job in 2003, Iron Man's was the only one left among characters I really loved(and to be fair, Hulk and Iron Man are the only superheros I have ever considered myself a fan of).

Same here. At first I was blown away by TDK but quickly realized I like Batman Begins a bit more after watching TDK on DVD a few times. I still love TDK but love BB more. It's mainly because I missed the dark and dirty feel of it over the cleaner and brighter side of Gotham Nolan chose for TDK...as well as the origin factor too. :woot:

I can't wait for Iron Man 2 though. I just hope they don't make a second full trailer before it's released. If so, I will try to avoid it. I don't want everything spoiled...especially all the action scenes.

But hardly any plot points were given away in that tesaer. All we really know(spoilers) has come more from our dogged investigation of all the little tidbits that we've accumulated over the last year and a half.

A smart studio never shows to much in their trailers, because the more you show the less there is to see when the movie comes out, and the surprise factor is gone. Also if you show to much, or give to much away, the expectations are too high, then when you see it, the expectations crush your enjoyment. Especially for die hard fans who study EVERYTHING that is released. Iron Man has been fairly smart about not revealing much plot.

However, the biggest enemy that Iron Man 2 has is Iron Man 1. People really didn't know what to expect when they saw Iron Man 1 for the first time, and it blew them away. Now, they know exactly what to expect, and expectation is a dangerous thing.

True but sometimes when you combine the action footage from the first full trailer and the second one it can show a massive amount of the action in the film. There have been movies in the past where most of the good scenes were pretty much shown in all the trailers. As you said we still haven't seen many plot points so a second trailer might not be too bad I guess.

Yeah but there have been so many movies this past decade that have in fact shown a little too much in them.

I agree. I think the biggest thing the sequel has going for it over the first is more action and from what we've seen, better action.

Your mom. OHH!!!! ...But seriously I have no f***ing clue.

And Fig's avatar scares me because thats the type of thing that I feared was in my closet when I was a kid. When I was about 6, I was always too scared to look in my closet. Or out my window. Just imagine being 6 and looking out your widow and seeing THAT. :wow:

Where's that from anyway, Figs?

I thought Tony built the reactor in a cave with a box of scraps. Is this supposed to be an older version of it?

Tony build a mini-Arc Reactor. The original one (The one Pepper blows up to defeat Iron Monger) was build by Howard Stark in the 70's.

Wait...

He steals the Arc Reactor's blueprints TO Whiplash's father and not FROM him?

I wonder...
