Iron Man 2 The Official Whiplash Thread

thats not stopping it, one more time today or tommorrow u two get into it and i swear to ****ing god ill get a mod in here

i just hope when i see it that its a good flick, and from what i hear it will be and Mickey will definatly perform

There was a chest piece.

Did you even watch the first film? Both the mark 2 and 3 where powered from the arc reactor in tonys chest. I know those suits are roomy but theres defintly not enough room to build one into the suit, let alone the fact that why would tony bother putting on in them?

That for me is the biggest fault with this film. Pretty much because it makes warmachine infathomable.

Tony had placed a reacton in those suits so that if the suit fails his own reactor will be left intact. You can see Rhodey taking it off before Hammer arrives so that the technology wont fall into his hands.

Seems logical. It would be somewhat of an annoyance if he's near death every time he runs out of juice, because he used his own reactor to power the suit.

what if he built them into his suits so he woulnt have to wory about running out or loosing, or somehow if he needs one, he pulls it out of the suits? idk just s thought

warning or not if theres nudity take it down, no nudity or linking to nudity on the hype

Rourke lived up to the hype. I loved his friendship with his pet bird.

BS. He got ripped off. Tony had it coming.

Dude gimme a break. Vanko's father was in it for the money, he would've sold the tech to the highest possible bidder good or bad...THAT'S why Howard Stark had him deported.

Howard was in it to make the world a better place. Vanko was in it for the profit.

The Stark's were not the villains in this. I will concede though that as a result of the deportation Ivan Vanko clearly got a raw deal growing up so I could see why someone would sypmathize with him.

He never stood a chance. But that's not Tony's fault.

By the way, in the novelization, which was based in a older draft of the Script, Vanko was deported because he was trying to sell the blueprints to the URSS; and only got jailed because he failed to deliver KGB the blueprints as he had promised.

Yeah, I love these small pieces of characterization. They give the character a certain humanity. It was nice to see him together with the bird.

Why didnt he accept that it was his bird when Hammer brought it to him?

Why would he do that?
becuase it amused him, same reason id do it, i mean cmon, dont tell me youve never mde someoen feel like an idiot jsut becuase yo thought it was funny or amusing

exaclty, like i said, im startin to like the SOB

He did sooo much with such limited dialogue. Wow. Rourke is the real deal.

Not saying anyone is wrong but what was the tell that the bird was in fact his original?

At least Stane was actively being menacing/evil throughout the whole movie. Post-Monaco, Vanko's role was reduced to lounging around fiddling with stuff until the last (anti)climactic battle.

This is the very same Vanko who nearly killed Iron Man wearing nothing but a prototype whiplash harness for ****'s sake.

I wouldn't call it lounging around. He basically devised a plot to destroy Tony and his expo . He was also able to call Tony and he killed several people with his bare hands (The inmate , prison guard , two of hammer's guards ). In the end he was on the verge of winning the battle.

Did anyone else think Vanko's cry/scream of anguish at the beginning of the movie sounded a little odd?
