Days of Future Past The official X-men First Class BD/DVD thread

First Class Blu-ray was sold out everywhere I went in Toronto. That being about 6-7 stores.
Currently it's selling for half off, and I'm sure that has a lot to do with it.

This was one of my favorite movies of 2011 and got it when it first released on BR. I was just finally able to watch it again and must say I was a little disappointed the 2nd time around. It was good, just not as good as the first viewing in theater. I thought this was the best Xmen movie to date, but now put it a hair behind X2.

I totally think it tops all the other movies. I was completely against another movie showing us the origin of Xavier and Magneto, how they met, and how they fell apart, but when I saw those trailers I was totally buying it. By the time I left the theater I couldn't remember what I had complained about. And this is the first time we FINALLY saw the X-Men showcased as a team, and more importantly we saw the beginning of them becoming a family which you never really get from the previous movies. That doesn't make the trilogy any worse, just makes First Class that much better.

This.

I know its been a while since the last post...But I can't stand that other regions get awesome releases like this:

I'm really tempted to pick this up:

...and if I do cave and buy it, the minute I do, I'll find out their releasing a Region 1/A version...thats always my luck.

According to the packaging, it contains five films + collector cards. But what I don't get with this packaging is the use of color yellow.

I actually watched all 5 movies yesterday.

The box set is nice, but seeing as how we have more movies on the way, any box set is pretty much incomplete at this point.

Yep, thats the only thing probably keeping me from buying.....LOL......unless I want to buy a new set every few years...

...although, these are also the rare time I will double dip...for Collector's or Limited editions.

I'm stuck between this and the Marvel Phase one set....LOL, which I already own all the films, but give me some collectibles, replicas...I'm sold LOL.

I'm still waiting for a decent Harry Potter blu-ray box set. They came out with a 'Wizards Collection' or something last year, but it was ridiculously overpriced and came with a lot of stuff I either already had (DVD versions of each film) or didn't need (3D discs for Deathly Hallows 2).

The Marvel Phase One thing is a great idea because each phase can be a complete set of its own. The X-Men movies seem too all over the place right now to settle on a single complete set, at least for now.

That's a great set, especially the information cards. Where is it available?

I own so many different sets now I think I deserve a walk-on part! lol.

I love the design

and how it includes new photos from Banshee and Havok

Hopefully we'll get an even better set with Days of future past, and of course with more pics from both characters

I believe its an Italian set, and saw it on the italian amazon site.---started scoping out the other regions the last few years, after seeing they get some awesome releases compared to Region 1/A.

I parted with a few box sets recently (I still have my blu's that I watch), but wouldn't mind picking this up to sit on the shelf.

its really exciting how this franchise keeps growing year after year

on 2014, it will be 7 movies already :wow:

and it wont stop there, so pretty impressive if you ask me

Back to the Blu-Ray set for a sec, I wish they'd do a set with the packaging of that X1 DVD concept from a few years back. Anybody remember (think it was around the time TLS was coming out)? It was in a X-Uniform themed packaging. I loved it---I think that kind of packaging would make for a perfect set.

I really can't believe its about 12 1/2 years since X1!...I remember the hype and hoopla for that film and still have figures of the X1 figures---

---I think its also impressive that the series hasn't run into some of the hurdles of other film series like Major recasting (First Class & Origins don't count IMO) or the reboot syndrome (depending on how you look @ First Class and the following films I guess), but this is my opinion.

They always release a new box set every time they release a DVD/Blu-ray of the latest X-Men movie and most movie franchises do that but its not really that worth it to buy, if it doesn't have a lot of new special features.

Did the last film's Blu Ray have commentary? I was disappointed the DVD didn't.

Watching each movie in a row in the actual timeline of when the movies take place will be fun once all the movies come out.

That's a sweet looking box set but I'm waiting for the final one.

maybe you will wait a whole decade for all the franchise in just one set, lol

I honestly dont see Fox stoping this franchise this decade. Not that I will be mad :D

Yes, the more X-Men movies to watch, the merrier!

And about the final one, you might have to wait at least 5 years for that. Right now, there is no reason for FOX to stop making these X-Men movies.

Hey everyone!

I decided a while ago, to get all of the limited editions available for all of the X-Men movies... yet for First Class I don't seem to find a limited one (for US). I know the french and german fans got special releases, but what version can we consider the limited edition for US?

I know there was an all stores edition where you get to choose if you want the Charles' slipcover or Magnetos slipcover...

I know about the Combo Pack from Target (BD, DVD, Digital Copy)

And I know there was an exclusive release for WalMart and BestBuy... but I don't know what they included...

Which version can be considered the Limited Edition one?
