There has been no reports of him participating in the tournament that I know of...I sure hope he does and I hope we see him in a gi.

Maybe we'll see it, if after watching Yamcha's attitude change from bandit who only looks out for himself, to trusted ally, Roshi will take him under his wing, and give him a red gi with the turtle Kanji?

I know we'll at least get 1 Goku vs Yamcha fight when they first meet up.

i actually am probably one of the very few that liked GT. i didnt think it was that bad. maybe they could have done better...i guess

I liked GT for the most part. I don't like how they threw my favorite character aside .. which isn't entirely GT's fault, DBZ did it 2/3 in.

haha i was looking through this thread, and i still laugh at the people who call gis GIs. do they think it's GI as in GI from GI Joe? lol. funny..

anyways, i think yamcha will be cool. his voice is spot on if you ask me. i'm still having a hard time understanding they they went with the gold highlights though...what i'm guessing is that this movie is just full of confused people. goku is a white guy trying to be asian, and yamcha is an asian trying to be white.

oh and joon park was a rapper from G.O.D, a korean boy band of sorts. think he'll make a rap for the movie? hahahaha. nice. i'm looking forward to the DB soundtrack, it should be fun.

Yamcha should have a good sized role in this film..but it doesnt really seem like it because we havent heard much about him it seems

The Korean website Star news put up an interview with Joon Park (Yamcha) today, and we’ve got a translation.

I always wanted to be a Hollywood actor, because I’m not good at the Korean language for acting in a Korean movie.
Dragonball was my third audition in Hollywood. I went to the audition, and I was called up from the director to come audition again. When I went to audition again, there were actors who were well known in the U.S., so I had to fight them. I thought “Not a chance,” because I’m “God” in Korea, but a “****” in the U.S. (laugh)
I entered the audition wearing a hat and shorts, and as soon as the director looked at me, he said “You are Yamcha.” I still can’t believe it. I won’t appear the first 25% of the movie, but I will later on.
I met Chow Yun-Fat for the first time when we traveled by helicopter. He was indeed a kind person. He was very friendly.
It isn’t easy to make a comic into a movie. It could have became too childish. So we were trying to maintain a middle ground. There will be a lot of CG in the movie. This is a family movie, so the shooting set was a very family-like atmosphere. “Speed Racer” was a very technical set, “Dragonball” set’s atmosphere was kind of like inviting staff to your home and having a barbecue.
Details of the movie are still a secret. It will be released on March 14th next year in South Korea and Japan for the first time in the world. Toys and video games will be released in the near future. My toys too. (laugh)

He might not look like the Yamcha we know from the manga/anime but he will do a good job of acting and sounding like the Yamcha from the Funimation Dragonball/DBZ

I finally realized what pisses me off most about Yamcha's look besides the hair. The lack of scar on his face. I really hope her gets that famous scar across his eye from Goku or an owning by Piccolo

He'll have it by the end of the film. Yamcha didn't always have that scar anyway.

I know but I view it as his trademark, along with the fist of the wolf fang I'd like to see him try to fight Piccolo and after about 3 seconds he's on the floor with his face bleeding to get his scar.

I actually agree. I saw what he looked like in Speed Racer and said "Holy ****, that guy is Yamcha!"

Now that I see him for Dragonball, I feel like we got gipped. He looks like a 50 year old asian pedo, personally.

Funny how the only blond Asian in this movie isn't a super saiyen. Anyway, the more I read about his character, the more he reminds me of Gambit.
