What, people don't have a problem with Reeves, but they complain and moan about Alex Ross's fantastic Superman? :o

Kirk Allen is the first live action Superman I believe, not Reeves & I believe SUPERBENITEZ was reffering to the spelling of Christopher Reeve's name.

Steve

It was Kirk Alyn, but of course that is what you meant.

hmm.. hello :woot:

I like Ross' stuff--when I say it's unrealistic is because his drawings don't look like regular people at all--this is more like Ancient Greek propaganda

You thought wrong.. Er, I mean, right :woot:

Cavill needs to be Supes. Those pics are awesome.

I can also see why he was considered for James Bond, he looks like he would be great in that role too. But he should do Superman first, and then Bond when he's in his 30s. :D

AR's Superman looks like a fat old man.

If you only go by that Mike Hill statue/waxwork, or the Kingdom Come version, then yeah.

But I think this is pretty much ideal, at least for a 35-40 year old Superman (this is my favourite Supes pic Ross has done:

If there was a real-life 25-30 year old version of THAT face, come on, who wouldn't agree that that would be pretty freaking cool?

Speaking of Ross/Superman, I'd really like if they adapted something like what he did with the Samaritan for the Astro City covers for Superman posters:

even I'll admit that there's a little bit of Trucco in that

If I recall correctly, he has "fixed" his Wonder Woman considerably.

A quick Google search has his WW going from this:

Lots of Wonder Woman pics in here. You guys do realise Cavil won't be cast. Everytime we have one of these discussions in one of these threds fan favorites never get chosen. I don't know why that's just the way it is.

Well WB considered Cavill before and he looks even better now. I would not be surprised if he makes their short list again. It all depends on what kind of Superman they want. And they want a reboot so he is the perfect age. I just hope whatever director they bring on sees this too.

Henry Cavill is perfect for superman. he has all the physical attributes that Supermna has, minus height which is not really a big deal since he is 6'1". It's not like the guys a midgit or anything so 2 inch platties & he's a go. Yes I do believe he can pull off a good american accent, I have seen far to many other actors accomplish it with ease for me to be so criticle of Cavill. A good voice coach, months of training & a shave & you have superman.

Steve

Just to remind people, here's the list of "The Six" final candidates for McG's version of Superman:
Jason Behr
Henry Cavill
Jared Padalecki
Brandon Routh
Mike Vogel
Hayden Christensen

Behr would be awful (my God, those ears!), as would Christensen and Padalecki.

Routh and Cavill were the only others I knew and I'd have considered both of them then... but only Cavill for a reboot now of course.

But I'd never heard of Vogel untill now but looking at him, he definitely shows promise if you ignore the blond hair. He actually looks a little like Cavill IMO. This is the best pic I could find of him:

I don't think I'd complain if Superman looked like that.

Edit - oh crap he's only 5 foot 10. While I don't think it's a rule that the actor playing Superman has to be exactly 6'3" or 6'4", he's got to be within a couple of inches of that mark. 5'10" is just too damn average.

Off topic: I'm with you on the above WW viewpoint; But then again Adam Hughes pretty much owns any other artist out there imo.

Dammit - I'll admit it; Cavill does wear those glasses well. :cmad:
