I think the Ollie mention in that article is just a wink to the audience. I don't think we'll be seeing him in a movie any time soon.

I think it pretty much depends on how well the movie slate takes off. If BvS and SS do some big business, I wouldn't be surprised if they announce more projects by the end of next year. Green Arrow would be a totally logical choice.

Thing is... Jake could pull off "Liberal" Ollie, but... I think he'd actually get annoying in that capacity if they wrote the character for HIM that way.

He could be shown having been operating for a similar time as Batman though.

Brad Pitt would be my dream casting as a cocky older Oliver Queen, but they'd never get him to do it.

If enough of Pitt's kids beg daddy to be in a superhero movie....there is a good chance he will be in one. So Pitt as an older Oliver Queen is possible for awhile.

What makes them stupid for wanting too see Amell's Arrow on the big screen?

As much as I loved the early seasons of Arrow, I very much welcome a different take on Green Arrow in the movie verse. The ideas of either Damon or Pitt in the role is very interesting.

N actor in the age range of Affleck is my druthers as well. Not sure GA would need a big star, but more someone that can make the character pop on screen for the movie audience. We'll have to see how this first slate goes though.
