the radio seems to think the penalty was given for a foul outside the box...

was it a game changer or was it inevitable that Liverpool would score?

Yeah I was gonna do the same as I was interested to see where our views lay looking at our teams from different perspectives. :D I was gonna ask for some of the other teams here but it was harder to find a parameter as there have been so many manager changes at other clubs.

if its players in their pomp you can include robbie fowler under rafa ;) fowler and torres together in their prime would have been amazing

it changed it a bit, but i dont think sunderland had a shot on target all game, so it was a deserved win

carroll was very very unlucky not to get his 1st goal, and suarez's goal was great

Sunderland huffed and puffed but ultimately had one shot on target and that was in something like the 87th minute (Cattermole). They started brightly but we came into the game (before the pen) and started to boss the game.

Carroll was unfortunate not to get his 1st goal and Suarez' goal was just amazing, as was most of his general play.

MOM for me has to be Jay Spearing. I havent been his biggest fan in the past but a performance like that has made me think that I need to re-evaluate my opinion of him.

for me motm was - the travelling kop! so so so very loud today, and suarez song sounds boss

"Where's your famous beach ball now?" and "Steve Bruce - you've got a beach ball head" were particularly good. :woot:

Today's game showed why possession stats are the most pointless in football, Sunderland had plenty of possession and good play but no cutting edge, unlucky in the first half as it wasn't a penalty, but in the second half Liverpool had the chances and took them while Sunderland meandered around. Suarez is going to be a good buy for sure and the next big pantomime villain of the Prem.

Evenly matched game between Chelsea and City, I think Chelsea look the more dangerous on the counter though.

Probably something along these lines...

Manchester United

----------------Schmeichel-------------
Vidic-----Ferdinand-----Bruce------Stam
Beckham/Ronaldo--Scholes--Keane--Giggs
Cantona/Van Nistelrooy-----Rooney------

Arsenal

------------------Seaman--------------
Sagna/Lauren---Adams---Campbell---Cole
Pires-----Fabregas----Vieira----Overmars
---------Bergkamp--------Henry--------

Good stuff mate, although I'd play our best fullbacks in my line up.

----------------Schmeichel-------------
Neville-----Ferdinand-----Vidic------Irwin
-----Ronaldo--Scholes--Keane--Giggs
-------Van Nistelrooy--Cantona

Yours and my Arsenal team are the same except I'd definitely go for Lauren. I was also going to go with Parlour on the right as I thought Pires was on the left most of the time and I'd definitely pick Overmars for the left.

Yep. I'm not sold on Cahill, I'm not sure if he's the one to take charge of our defence though.
Anyone in mind?

From what I've heard, Yes.
Could be some drama this summer then?

I know. I'm presuming it was just paper talk, but that would be a steal, and it would p*** me off no end if Spurs pulled it off.
It would be a coupe considering if you add in Aguero's buyout clause they'd be getting Forlan for £5M.

Just being realistic mate. :cwink:
Heh! :D

It would have been interesting since given they are both classic #9's. Would you pick your ultimate Prem era Liverpool 11 all from Benitez reign?

prem era? no way

barnes and rush played during the prem era if im not mistaken....jones at right back maybe... I would have to give it a bit more thought - would prob have rush and fowler up top though

Hearing that some little ****er in the chelski area was shining a laser pen at City players...

hope they find the scum and shove that laser pen up where the sun don't shine... that kinda **** is something that really pisses me off.

Wonder what they would be charged with if the laser does indeed blind someone [which it can if it hits the right spot of the eye]?

GBH with intent?

anything that has a long jail sentence....

Indeed.

It really is moronic, isnt it?

completely...

part of the reason that **** angers me is that i am photosensitive...for me to get hit in the face with one of those things would be pure agony...

See, that's the kind of thing that wouldnt even enter the mind of your average 'laser-penner' simply because they're probably either too stupid, uneducated or ignorant (or maybe all three) to even consider the prospect.

''I think I'll shine this laser at that guys face. It'll be funny/ease my boredom..........''

i don't think the type of people that use laser pens in that manner at sporting events can think above...

'OOOH SHINY!'

''Oi Wayne, Darren - get a load of this, lads!'' >shines laser in a strangers face<

Cretins.

Boss, aint it. He even threw a little strop when he got subbed. Nice to see that he's carried on his sulking to his new club. I'm calling it right now - Torres sold to Rangers for £2 million next year after still scoring no goals for Chelsea. :D

David Luiz looks class though, has to be said. The lad's got everything in his locker from the looks of it.

Yeah they did actually, I think Torres, Rush and Fowler are all #9's though, best played with someone behind them, like Beardsley and Dalglish played in their day.

Heh! :D He does look utterly miserable, from what I read what he really wants is to return to Spain.

Luiz has been a very good signing for Chelsea and now Ramires is starting to find his feet in the Prem. On the other side today City looked toothless without Tevez, they are so sluggish, Silva must feel he's playing on his own with cab horses like Milner and Barry as his support.

Chelsea to strengthen attack with £63m double swoop for Aguero and Sneijder

Liverpool ready to outbid Spurs for Adam's services

United set to beat Arsenal in race for Saints wonderkid

Liverpool to Sign Top Notch £22m Wide Pair to Help Resolve Left Sided Issues

They may well get Aguero but I don't see Inter selling Sneijder.

He seemed a decent buy in January but come the summer Liverpool will have a wider market to buy from.

Nothing against Chamberlin but we have plenty of "ONE FOR THE FUTURE" players.

Width is definitely the biggest issue I'd say, not sure how Liverpool supporters feel about those two though.

If anything does happen I'd be suprised and in all honesty p****d off, we had Carlisle fans (about 5 or 6) shining laser pens into our players eyes during a Penalty shootout and nothing happened then.

Did anyone watch MOTD 2 last night? Jonathan Pearce sounded like a love sick puppy talking bout Dalglish " the most delightful smile in football" as he put it, although from where I was sitting it looked liked the yellowed teeth of a 60 year old....

Liverpool next year might be a real contender if he adds some more to the squad.
