The Paris Hilton Fiasco Threads Merged

Because 99% of those bashing her don't even know her personally.

I know enough about her to realize she's a spoiled *****, and I generally don't like spoiled *****es.

I also know she broke the law and tried to get out of serving her jail time.

That's enough information about her for me to be glad that she's going through this. I don't have any reason to apologize for feeling glad about it, and neither does anyone else.

Who the hell was that moron screaming "NNNNNNOOOO, god NNNOOOOOO!"
when her lawyer said she was going back to jail?

LOL!:D

But, the media does tend to prefer portraying the more negative side of a celeb as it generates more talk. Now, I'm not saying Paris is the nicest chick in the world - because I don't know her - so to judge her whole personality based on said media is a little unfair.

But don't you see that what is portrayed in the media is exactly what she wants to show us? She is in effect running the show. She goes out and is seen everywhere, looking glamorous and chic and "Oh, look at me!!". Anywhere there is a camera, regardless of the event, she is in front of it, knowing that the photographers, and then her "public" will eat it all up with chocolate sauce. She is running the show, and calling the shots, and dragging us all along for the ride. She's a master manipulator. When we see her posing with the stobe-flashbulbs blazing, it is exactly what she wants. That is the life she has chosen for herself, and the persona/facade she wants to adopt. And that in and of itself is very telling about the person in private. Huge ego, attention ****e, whatever. It is her show, and she's calling the shots...not the media. The media is merely coming when called, like an eager little puppy to get a treat. The only solution is for the media to just ignore her, and move on to more worthy stories. But we know that is never going to happen. They are being used by her, but in the end, she is making them money, so the cycle continues...until Lohan crashes her car into another tree.

Here's what I want to know about the subject. Who cares? And, is it really worth 24 hour coverage on CNN? I mean really, arent some actual events taking place somewhere???

oh no i know what ur saying, the media does tend to do that...a lot. but i can tell why so many people are turned off by her. sometimes i compeletely understand, other times i'm like..umm...wha?

but it seems like every thing that girl does comes out a negative, every single thing, like her backing into a car in an underground parking lot and just driving away, while paparazzi are taking her picture and videotaping it, some examples like that just tick people off. she comes off as an unapologetic person. but who knows, deep down she could be a nice gal.

Yeah, but we're sick of war and political race coverage. This is something different, even if it is Paris.

I'm glad the right thing happened, she is no different then anyone else when it comes to the 'letter' of the law. And, hopefully Lee Baca gets some jail time as well.

Past that, I really don't give a rusty opossum fart. :o

honestly, I'd take any of those over "vapid ****e goes to jail." Hell, I'd even take one of those "white middle class girl is missing!" stories they love to drag out every few months...

I think it's really important. It's one of the only things that we can pretty much all rally behind on as a country. Paris Hilton going to jail brings America together and makes the world a more peaceful, unified place. It really just brings us all together.

The whole thing reminds me of when this couple kept trying to sneak into a terminal at JFK to meet their friends, when everyone else was waiting where we were supposed to for arriving flights. When the cops eventually had to escort them out, a guy yelled "YES! THE RULES APPLY TO YOU TOO!!!!"

I could care less about Paris Hilton as a person. But she was drunk and she could have killed someone. She should punished just like anyone else who does it.

The rules apply to her too.

This is the part I disagree with. She could have killed someone is not illegal and shouldn't be treated as such. Drunk driving and breaking her probation was illegal and she should be punished for that, but saying she could have potentially done somethign worse, so she should get the harshest punishment possible is wrong. Every single person that robs a liqour store would then get life because there was an off chance that they could have killed someone.

She should get the time the judge decided on, and unless proven she bribed the sheriff, she shouldn't get anymore time either because of her early release.

Actually it is. That's WHY driving under the influence is illegal, the possibility that you could cause serious injury or death is the whole point. Otherwise drunk driving would be perfectly legal.

She's detoxing........and its NOT PRETTY....lol

A lesser sentence because she didn't kill anyone, that's fine. It didn't happen. The 45 days she originally got was what she deserved--I'm not saying she deserved to be buried under the jail or anything.

It wasn't illegal for her to almost kill someone...but endangering innocent lives by driving drunk and recklessly, that deserves to be punished, and she should serve the sentence that was handed down to her.

Who wants to bet that she cuts her wrist before it's all said and done. That would be the crown jewel on top of this little fiasco.:whatever:

God, I hope not. We don't need another Anna Nicole situation.

needles to say, shes having a major major major reality check

No, Not die from it, Just cut herself enough to make them think she's nuts.

Why so she can be released? They made an argument that she was suffering mentally. If she cuts herself, she'd probably make millions in a lawsuit.

Not that I want her to die or anything like that. I guess it turns out that most people actually only get like a week for what she did.
