Anyone else who follows "Heroes" notice that the Petrelli Bros. are pretty much based off the Summers Bros.? The oldest Petrelli Bros. Nathan, is a politician and would be considered the leader and face of the "Superhumans" on that show. Scott is the leader and figurehead of the X-Men. Alex is more powerful han Scott, and rebellious. Peter is more powerful than Nathan, and also rebellious. And now we revealed that Sylar is the third Petrelli Bros. He is very powerful but also psychotic. His name is Gabriel Gray. Vulcan is the third Summers Bros. who is very powerful and also psychotic. His name also happens to be Gabriel.

heroes has never pretended to be at the forefront of originality.

To be fair with the entire comic wolrd covering every possible plot EVER, it would be hard to not draw up parallels with anything

I think it's easy for the comicbook community to say that Heroes copies too much from X-Men and other comics because we've seen it all. The general audience hasn't a clue what to expect. When Claire gets gets metal claws, that's when I'll start getting pissed. But for right now, whatever.

Yea the whole referencing this show to anything that has happend in comcs is getting a bit old. Yes we as comic book readers know all these things. We've seen all the stories play out. The common watcher has no clue about any of the storyline that these shows may or may not have been referenced from. Give the show a break and just enjoy it if you can . I mean someone got mad cause they felt when they saw Matt following his spirit turtle it was a ripoff of a Simpsons episode?? REally though!?! Is it that serious? Enough already. Yes we know Heroes resembles X-men and many other comic book stories out there, but it was no way implied that this show was meant only for comic book fans. Its a show for the masses and though you may not the resemblances to comics the masses will not. So just leave it be.

I wouldn't know any of this 'similarity' or 'connection' because the only American entertainment stuff I follow is X-Men comics, and I don't think I would have minded even if I knew.

as much as everything has been done before it IS hard to get something completely original.

but this particular storyline seems a bit much. its like they just picked up a new xmen comic. well not exactly but i mean come on! change the name at least!

but i do love heroes!

This entire season of Heroes has been all about ripping off comic plots. If you look cloesely, you will spot alot more connections to various books out there

which is only noticeable to the comic book fans

The fact that Vulcan and Sylar share a first name is what I find crazy.

Maybe that's why the show is called 'Heroes', takes all the plots of the old and every superhero comic and put all of them together.

That wasnt so much the case for seasons 1 and 2. Its blatently obvious this season. Im not complaining bc Im enjoying it so far, but they've been ripping alot of plots from comics this season

Wait, what? Sylar is honestly the 3rd brother? Need to watch the show again. Haven't watch a single single episode since the new season started.

I still hope Sylar isn't really a Petrelli. That is just so lame. And don't even get me started on "the hunger" :whatever:

Yes unfortunetly it looks true but Im hoping that it isnt.

I'm praying this is just a case of Mama Petrelli playing around with people's minds. She doesn't even need telepathy to do it, after all, since she's one of the few people from "The Company" left alive.

As for "the Hunger," I don't see how Peter didn't already have Sylar's power from their first meeting. Oh, how I miss Season 1. :csad:

I know what you mean. Although i think season 3 isn't as bad as a lot of people claim. It just has bit of sloppy writing here and there. I think the writers "forgot" about certain elements of season 1 and 2. "The hunger" actually is as bad as people say. It such a lame excuse for Sylar to kill and why would Peter kill his own brother? Just because of the hunger? I don't buy it. He never hurt anyone.
