The Dark Knight Rises The Possibility of Inception in relation to Batman

Fanboy wishing. I find it amusing that the fans so frequently see secret plots in the production of their favourite movies. For example, there were people who believed that Michael Anthony Hall was actually playing the Joker--and that Heath was just a decoy. I got a good laugh out of that.

Don't know why people want Inception to be secretly Batman 3, anyway. Wouldn't you rather have a sci-fi movie directed by Nolan and Batman 3? Instead of just Batman 3?

LOL at the memories of people who actually thought that about Anthony Michael Hall.

I have to agree about wanting a Nolan directed sci-fi film. Not only does this give him some breathing room for a possible third Batman movie but looking at The Prestige which he made in between Batman films...I am really looking forward to Inception.

Wasn't Anthony Michael Hall always rumored for being the Riddler????

Yeah for awhile people thought he was going to be the Riddler too.

Aside from the Riddler rumour there were a number of people who started the rumour that he could actually be the 'real' Joker and Heath Ledger was just a distraction. LOL

I like that this is stirring up some discussion, and Greg that's kool that we had the same notion. I was thinking that Leonardo Di Caprio could make an excellent Sionis, better known as Black Mask. He is a great actor and could pull him off well.

^Dicaprio could pull off Sionis totally, i agree. Maybe after Nolan works with him enough during Inception's filming, he'll try to sign him on for TDK sequel and we can stop hearing about this johnny depp ********. Dont get me wrong, i like depp a lot, but it would almost seem like a copout to pursue him solely for the riddler casting rumour. But really, Depp is a tremendously talented actor and unfortunately i think that a majority of his recent success could be detrimental to the role of the Riddler since he's such a "high-profile" actor now. But i could be wrong and i didn't in any way intend to diss him or anything of that nature.

Great to hear someone agrees with me, I think he could be a great foil for Bruce's playboy persona i.e. the exact reverse of what Bruce plays, make him intelligent, funny, charming, personable, etc. I like the idea of a reverse Batman to a degree granted I am not talking to the Prometheus extreme, just a nice mix of Hush and Black Mask. Make him a threat, while still keeping it from being too hard a challenge. By day he's the new first son of Gotham, and by night a sadist with a taste for blood. (not literally of course)

:funny: I wish I had been on these boards when TDK was being made.

Inception is Batman 3. Look at that cast. You got Dicaprio as the Riddler, what better way to top Ledger's Joker? Gordon=Levitt will reprise the Joker for a quick cameo. Cillian Murphy will be back as Scarecrow. Marion Cotliard is Catwoman. Caine will be back as Alfred. The only thing left is for them to announce "Christian Bale joins the cast of Inception."

Hahaha Cunning is right, it was crazy before the movie came out. The virals alone. . . .

Don't state it as if its fact. Its only a looney conspiracy theory that you have decided to run with.

So, this is going to be the Batboard's "You can see Venom in Spidey's eye!!!1!1!"

Interesting.

I'll never understand why people say "don't state it as a fact" or "that's your opinion" on internet forums as if to pass on something of value to the discussion. I mean unless you're quoting an article aren't the majority of posts by definition, opinions and not facts? Seems kinda obvious to me.

While I certainly don't think there's even the slightest chance at this really being BB3, I would actually be disappointed if it were. Not because of the cast (I would actually love this cast for BB3...if DiCaprio were playing Black Mask, that is), but because I think the one thing I like even better than a Christopher Nolan film is an original story written/directed by him, so I'm actually more excited about Inception than the next installment of this series. So If this were some big fake-out (it's not), I'd be extremely disappointed. But yeah, this cast is amazing, and would be amazing for a Batman movie as well, imo.

I get a kick out of how superhero movies have become "classy films" in some respects and now superhero epics are always trying to out-do each other in regards to casting superbly talented actors. It seems like there's a competition going on.... Batman Begins casts Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman...all award winners/nominees... Iron Man casts Robert Downey Jr. Paltrow, Howard, etc....Incredible Hulk casts Edward Norton (nominee twice right?)... then The Dark Knight adds Heath Ledger (nominated for Brokeback Mountain)... and now Iron Man 2 has Mickey Rourke (just nominated and wildly believed to be the best actor of 2008)...

So I just can't wait to see Nolan's Batman 3 cast. Inception's cast DOES SOUND like a worthy successor to TDK's cast and another "challenge" to other superhero epics' casts.

No, you really don't. :hehe:
Oh, they were fun times. All those NoirMan scoops, and the s***storm when the first spy pics of Heath appeared, with the opening of the 'I guess Joker just wears make-up after all' thread.
Good times.

Me too.

I'll never forget when the pics surfaced of Heath riding a skateboard in full costume, and everyone went completely crazy about it. Hahaha good times.

Haha, I know, I was here for them. I was just joking on how hectic it was.

It was good fun when mainly real fans were on during the actual filming in Chicago when certain new posters who got treated like crap were nice enough to show us pics of filming in Chicago since they lived there. Once the virals started it was a bit chaotic and annoying. I had fun with the virals but to keep up with discussions was hard due to how many posts we're being made.

Personally I look forward to Inception being it's own sci-fi film than I do it being Nolan's third Batman film. The odds of it being another Batman film seem highly unlikely...regardless of the cast.

I agree Fig, I highly highly doubt it as well and I will love to see a Nolan flick with these actors set in a sci-fi genre. Just wanted to toss the idea out there.
