When Smallville first started I was super excited. Didn't like the no tights or flight thing but the writing was good and the cast superb. I bought Season 1 on DVD and then I stopped being able to watch do to scheduling.

Recently during the whole two hour tv movie I started watching the new ones on Friday night I've been blown away on how far it's come. But I found some things disturbing Clark seems off driven, however he looks lazy next to Chloe who has given up her dream of reporting for behind the scenes big brother Oracle rip off. And then there is Lois I don't like her at all it seems forced contrived and not right for Clark!

Then I calmed down and realized there has been roughly 8 season i've missed there must be reason why my poor sweet Chloe acts this way and what happened to Lex, and Lana and pete? I decide I must catch up to understand and I still might not like what I find or the character motivation but then agian I might.

So I rewatched all of Season 1 and remembered why I loved the show. Then I got season 2 and watched it. Some I loved others not so much Clark drives me crazy. Why doesn't he just tell Lana the truth?!?!? I'm on like the 3rd episode of season 3 so far and it's interesting they will have to do something about Lionel soon I think. He know too much.

So without giving too much away when does Pete leave the show? Lana?

LOL I never understood why the Chloe fans hate Lois Lane that much.

yea the show has changed alot from season 1 to season 9. There has been many characters killed off/left the show. There has been many highs and many lows in the series too. but hey all shows tend to go through these periods. But presently the show is in a very good place in my opinion. Plus yea when it started 9 yrs ago i bet many of us fans didnt expect it to last this long, and actually get pretty much into a superman show and expand upon a greater dc universe is out there beyond superman.

Pete leaves after season three, and lana leaves much later than that.

I recently rewatched the show on HDNet and couldn't believe how long Lana stayed on the show. In my mind I felt that Lana was barely on the show(No idea why I thought this), but going back and watching, holy crap. "You're still here!?"

oh totally for me since i never really cared much for the lana character after season 2. she should have left the show for good after season 4 and they finished the highschool yrs of the show. beyond that she progressively got into stupid storylines and plots and wasnt really needed any more. They could have easily revamped the show back in season 5 with either going to college days, or at least had clark doing more journalism stuff with maybe working for the smallville ledger or something and maybe either get to a clark/chloe romance, or even bring in that lori lermais character or something. For me one of the dark marks on the show was the endless drama and yoyoing of lana and clark relationship.

Oh man, I was actually watching season two yesterday with my room mate and wow, it's a completely different show now. COMPLETELY different. I couldn't help but laugh while watching it because Lana's main plot was finding out if Henry Small was her real father while last season, she has a kryptonite super-suit.

Kyrptonite super-suit??? Really this yoyo thing continues :cmad: Your perfect for each other stupid. I thought maybe by the end of the season he shares his secret they are madly in love next year she get's killed and then Lana could be Clarks Gwen Stacy?

Every Season has it's good points and faults, but one thing I liked about earlier seasons was Clark was THE HERO of the show without shoe horning other characters into that aspect. Give me Lana finding out about Henry Smalls B-storyline anyday over some of the stuff they get Chloe and/or Oliver doing now.

Kyrptonite super-suit??? Really this yoyo thing continues :cmad:

I think saying Clana continues would be an understatement. lol

If you continue watching on wait till you get to S6, if you like bad soap opera's that season will be perfect for you.

I think it really is something how much the show has changed. It was inevitable, given the prolonging of the show past its original 5 year plan, or whatever it was. I do think that resistance to growth was the source of many of the show's problems from seasons 4-7.

totally all shows like these have to change to grow and expand to revive itself. Plus really after season 4/5 it couldnt really stay where it was. Now we are pretty much a superman show without the actual name and costume. Which is still cool.

Exactly at some point if this works they should end smallville with Lex coming back i guess he's dead or missing or something nobody really explains on the recent ones I've seen. They should bring Lex back and start a new show and call it metropolis or Superman or whatever and put it on a better night and have it continue.

^^ The producers want Michael Rosenbaum back, I hope he will at least for the series finale to end the show properly with a bang.

yea from what we know right now from michael he doesnt have the interest/want to return to the show. But i am sure between now and when the last bunch of episodes are due to be scripted/filmed for season ten(if confirmed to be the end which it will likely be) they will probably work on talks with michael and i would hope we can at least get michael to return for series finale.

I agree with pretty much everything you said.

By the way did they just drop the Henry Small thing all together? I don't remember there ever being mention of him ever again after S2. I also personaly think this was a lame story line. And I was backwards, I didn't like the show at first then Wal MArt started getting the seasons on dvd for $20 so I was like I'll have to give SV another shot. And ever since season 5 I've paid full price for the seasons and ever since season 8 I've maid it a point to watch every episode. I tried watching every episode during S6 and 7 but I lost intrest during a break and would always seem to catch reruns insted of new episodes.

They at least gave Henry an exit, he left to "focus on his marriage," the same can't be said for Chloe's dad, Gabe. :D

yea i still think their is probably a decent shot that michael would do a series finale appearance. And since its a long tiem from now and when last few season 10 episodes would be written around march 2011 who knows what could happen between now and then. So i will hold a little hope we can get him to do at least one darn episode.

Was he ever mentioned or on the show again after losing his job at Luthor Corp?

Just finished Season 3 Chloe and her dad go into protective custody and as they walk in the house blows up but since I know Chloe doesn't die and clark went with some supergirl into a wall I wonder how she survives. I'm really not liking them putting Lex and Lana together but I bet they do just to piss me off. Season 3 was different but really good now on to season 4!

by the way I thought it was lame how they did Pete in. they pretty much ignored him then made him scared so he leaves?!?! Pete deserved better he should have caught Lionel doing something and Lionel killed him. Just a thought.

totally sam didnt really leave on good placeing. from what i recall he was really in bad terms with gough and millar over not being used more like he should have. But he did return for a guest spot in season 7 for an episode. it was an ok episode. But hopefully they do have him at least pop up once more some point in season ten would be nice.

Here you don't need to re-watch everything. Just watch these:

Episodes Important to Clark's Storyline:

Season 1
Episode 1 - Pilot (First Episode)

Season 2
Episode 17 - Rosetta (Clark learns about Krypton)
Episode 22 - Calling (Clark starts learning more about himself)
Episode 23 - Exodus (Clark abandons the farm and his "destiny" because trying to live up to it all screws him over)

Season 3
Episode 1 - Exile (Jor-El sends Jonathan to bring Clark home)
Episode 17 - Legacy (Lionel learns about Krypton from Dr. Swann)

Season 4
Episode 1 - Crusade (Clark starts to become more Kryptonian and he starts on a voyage that spans across the entire season)
Episode 22 - Commencement (Clark's season long mission ends when he combines a bunch of relics to create the FORTRESS)

Season 5
Episode 1 - Arrival (Clark trains in the fortress, fights Kryptonians and then loses his powers - he gets them back two episodes later haha)
Episode 12 - Reckoning (Someone close to Clark dies - DO NOT MISS)
Episode 22 - Vessel (The guy who caused the destruction of Krypton comes to Earth)

Season 6
Episode 1 - Zod (Continuation of Vessel, a bunch of alien prisoner's escape Jor-El's prison because of Clark)
Episode 11 - Justice (Justice league is formed)
Episode 16 - Promise (Lana learns about Clark's secret and marries Lex)

Episode 16 - Descent (Lex kills his father. DO NOT MISS)
Episode 20 - Arctic (Lex discovers the weapon to control Clark but for some reason the fortress collapses on itself (you find out why later))

Intros for Heroes and Characters:

Season 4
Episode 1 - Crusade (I listed it under Important episodes too, but Lois shows up in this one)
Episode 5 - Run (The Flash)

Season 5
Episode 4 - Aqua (Aquaman)
Episode 15 - Cyborg (Cyborg)

Season 6
Episode 4 - Arrow (Green Arrow is introduced - Ollie does come in two episodes before, but he doesn't do much)
Episode 11 - Justice (DO NOT MISS THIS ONE!!!!!!!!! The Justice League forms)

Season 7
Episode 11 - Siren (Black Canary is introduced)

Clark gets new powers (don't really matter, but if you're curious...)

Season 1
Episode 4 - X-Ray (Take a guess...)

Season 2
Episode 2 - Heat (Heat Vision)

Season 3
Episode 10 - Whisper (Super Hearing)

Season 5
Episode 3 - Hidden (Clark jumps RIDICULOUSLY high - Clark also gets his powers back after losing them two episodes before)

Season 6
Episode 2 - Sneeze (Super breath...I'm not joking. Ollie also shows up in this episode)

Season 9
Episode 18 - Upgrade (Freezing breath)

In terms of Season 8 and 9 watch all, but avoid these:

Season 8
Episode 15 - Infamous (**** hits the fan, and then Clark goes back in time to undo everything)
Episode 19 - Stiletto (Lois tries to be a superhero - it's ******ed)
Episode 21 - Injustice (Completely pointless episode)

Season 9
Episode 5 - Roulette (All you need to know is Oliver pulls himself together again)
Episode 8 - Idol (Two "heroes" start doing **** to impress the Blur)
Episode 13 - Warrior (Don't ask...)
Episode 14 - Persuasion (Garbage)
Episode 16 - Escape (Crap)

Also, I took out the episodes with Brainiac. He's pretty much just a computer-person from Krypton which serves Zod and wants to **** up the world. He'll show up now and then.

Season 7
Episode 1 - Bizarro (Continuation of Phantom. Clark's cousin is introduced (blond girl))
Episode 14 - Traveler (Clark's arrival was expecting and there was a group of people tracking him)
Episode 15 - Veritas (Clark learns that Lionel, Dr. Swann, Oliver's parents and the Teagues (from season 3) were all in this cult)
Episode 16 - Descent (Lex kills his father. DO NOT MISS)
Episode 20 - Arctic (Lex discovers the weapon to control Clark but for some reason the fortress collapses on itself (you find out why later))

Episode 11 - Siren (Black Canary is introduced)

Season 7 should be my favorite.... it was really good...:yay:
Descent and Siren are cool episodes

Episode 23 - Exodus (Clark abandons the farm and his "destiny" because trying to live up to it all screws him over)

Episode 12 - Reckoning (Someone close to Clark dies - DO NOT MISS)

Season 6
Episode 16 - Promise (Lana learns about Clark's secret and marries Lex)

Season 7
Episode 14 - Traveler (Clark's arrival was expecting and there was a group of people tracking him)

All these episodes made my worst 25 episodes list. Promise being the worst of the bunch(unless of coarse you like bad soap operas that have great camera work and 3 points of view)

Episode 14 - Traveler (Clark's arrival was expecting and there was a group of people tracking him)
Episode 15 - Veritas (Clark learns that Lionel, Dr. Swann, Oliver's parents and the Teagues (from season 3) were all in this cult)

I really wouldn't consider these "key Clark" episodes, The Veritas storyline in general was stupid and other then slightly building up Descent(which was more about Lex then Clark) both these episodes were pointless in the overall picture. It's sort of ironic that the whole Veritas thing was a retcon of stuff earlier from the series and was retconned itself a year later in Eternal.

I think you forgot the Lana arc of suck(mainly Power and Requiem).
