The Amazing Spider-Man The pros and cons of a the reboot

Pros: It could be the adaptation a lot of us have been waiting for.

Cons: It can't get any worse.

One thing about that Pro is that Sony are still the studio making the movie. We're unsure what elements of the Spider-Man 4 script they wanted apart from not wanting Vulture and we know they had the Venom influence in number 3. So unless there's an actual fan of the comics writing the film (Not one who hates certain villains, one who knows how to work them without altering their personalities or styles), this could be just a teen-orientated cash cow. I really hope they know how to go about making this a success and not ruining stories or storyline possibilities.

I wish Marvel would get their property rights back and put Spidey and the other major comic players into the Marvel/Disney Movieverse.

Unless you're an insider at Sony, or have read the script, or can tell the future.. everyone's elses are also.

pros: the new spidey will be a wise cracking smart arse

- says who?

pros: this will give the franchise a fresh start

- that's fair

it's a little tireseome reading some of the pros that include things like, 'the movie wont center around a girl', 'spidey will wisecrack' 'mj will be hot'

all assumptions.
another assumption is the new movie will automatically kick the old movies into touch, yeah, it might but then again it might not. the movies may suck HARD, or kick ass or like TIH make no discernable difference either way.

What if they basically clone Raimi's vision of Spider-Man, repackage the same vision, just with a new wrapper? Possible, since it was financially successful. I, and I bet nor you, would call that a "Fresh Start".

I am sure it will be, but it is NOT a fact, as I stated in my previous post. (guess you did not read that part)

I think even if they went with raimi's exact model it would still be a fresh start as the actors and director will be new

I would agree on the Fresh Start, and as I said, I agree too with you that I think it will be, and DEFINITELY should be.

But Fresh Start implies a very Subjective test. And for me, if they basically took Sam's vision of Spider-Man, (with new actors/directors), but still the same visiion (i.e. All about ONE girl.. say they replaced MJ with Gwen).. I would NOT think that is a Fresh Start in any way.

And thanks for the post comment, I didn't even notice I had gone over 42k.. not that big a deal to me. Just means I spend WAYYYY too much time here. LOL

Big Pro: I highly doubt this reboot will be any worse than Spider-Man 3.
