The Question Movie

Question, can you recomend any specific issues of The Question comics that are worth checking out? or any tpbs involving the character that are worth checking out? Thanks.

You should read 52. He's supposed to be one of the major players in it, and has already been in it quite a bit. It's a good read, too.

Frank Miller's Dark Knight Strikes Again has the best portrayal of the Question since Ditko's Charlton run. Avoid any mainstream DCU title, they've butchered the character beyond recognition.

Where can I get a hold of the original Charlton comic books?

Update: Heres my manip of Liev Schreiber as The Question (thought the pic suited him)

Looks cool.
The Question directed by David Fincher anyone?

**** yes!

Does anyone have a good pic of Nathan Fillion i could use for another fan poster?

And another thing i just thought of, should Blue Bettle or any of the other Charlton Comic heroes appear in the film, if theres gonna be one?

The Question is not dying in 52 so far as I know, mainly because Greg Rucka said he'd write a series about him as long as they'd let him.

Question cast:

The Question: Nathan Fillion (of course, if Firefly comes back in any real capacity, then I'd change my choice. Too big of a browncoat to say otherwise)

Mia Fermin: Rachel Weisz

Ixxy O'Toole: Alec Baldwin

Reverend Jeremiah Hatch: Kelsey Grammar

Professor Aristotle "Tot" Rodor: Donald Sutherland

Lady Shiva: Kelly Hu

Richard Dragon: David Carradine

You should read the new DC Universe novel 'Helltown' by Denny O'neal. It's all about the origin of the Question and is VERY good!

From BN.com:

Newly arrived in crime-plagued Hub City, Vic Sage doesn't plan to be a hero. He wants only to uncover his own mysterious past. Working as a reporter for a local radio station, Vic gets too close to a deadly story and is nearly murdered-when he's rescued by mercurial assassin Lady Shiva, trained by martial arts master Richard Dragon, and given a new identity by Batman. Now reborn as The Question, Vic Sage vows to destroy a vast, corrupt conspiracy involving Hub City's most powerful men. But as he seeks the elusive truth, Vic will find that the answers may prove fatal...

There are 2 other books in the DC U series so far: 'Inheritance' which is a story about Batman, Aquaman, and Green Arrow and their relationship with their young wards and the boys' relationship with each other. The other is called 'Last Sons' and is about Supes, Martian Manhunter, and Lobo, all 'last sons' of dead planets. All the stuff with Lobo, which is the majority of the book, is great and just hilarious! Both of these books are excellent as is Helltown. I've always been a Marvel guy but I'm really into reading this DC prose. There's a Justice League series that's good too. So far, 5 books - one each of Supes, WW, Bats, Flash, and GL. All very good!

I've stopped the actual writing, but it still has a very strong presence in my head (along with the other half dozen film dreams). My lack of comics from the Charlaton and Neil eras have limited me to the very basic outline I have. I want to put together elements from all the major interpretations, including Q's monologue from 'Dark Knight Strikes Again.'

As a director, I know what 'look' I want. Film noir, desaturated colors, lots of shadows. Emulating the look of films from 'Out of the Past,' 'Touch of Evil,' and more recent ones like 'Road to Perdition.'

If you want, I could give you some help with it. I'm rather well versed in The Question, as you may have guessed.

A very good book. It's a revamp of the story originally presented in the first few issues of O' Neil's Question series. Bruce Wayne also plays a larger role in how Vic becomes The Question. Overall, it was a pretty good read. I could hardly put it down. I think it's the best of the three DC novels.

What's Batman's part in it, Bats? :D

He comes to check on Vic while he's being trained by Richard Dragon. He sees that Vic may travel down the same path he did, and becomes Sage's "mysterious benefactor" - setting him up with acting classes for creating a dual identity. Later when Sage is in trouble, Bruce contacts Shiva and eventually they all meet up. At the end, Bruce is in costume. He's mostly Bruce Wayne whenever he encounters Vic, I'm surprised Vic never made the connection that he's his benefactor.
