Minus the pixie dust, I feel this could easily represent Dumbo.

I can never buy into it, when I'm supposed to believe a character can withstand extreme heat, pressure, impact, etc. yet they have a tattoo.

Yes I know they could have gotten it before their powers, but still, it draws my eye and leaves me feeling it weakens their appearance.

Nah, just some "Tron" style characters Marvel did to correspond with the movie a while back. Here are the others, if you're interested in seeing the rest;

I only really only dug the Moon Knight, Ghost Rider and Spidey myself though.

Scott has an x men patch on his jacket. it ends up playing into the whole "future evil ex" thing. Also he wears a Smashing Pumpkins "Zero" shirt whereas the exes all have numbers 1-7

No doubt original, but I still think this particular Kirby villain is outdated

It all depends on the scale and context. Galactus as a normal sized guy in a room looks kind of silly. Callactus as someone who's over 1,000 feet tall looming over a city with plants dying, the earth shaking apart with lava errupting to the surface, and the sky blakening as he devours the planet looks fairly indimidating.

superman disguises himself as clark kent. peter parker disguises himself as spider-man. this is common knowledge. Even bill, from kill bill knows this.

Bill from Kill Bill was a spiteful misanthrope. His speech was meant to illustrait that.

Superman's sense of self has been MUCH more complex than "Superman disguises himself as Clark Kent" for a very long time and the character is better for it.
