The "real" Reason 'sony' Keeps Referring To The The 'ps3' As A "computer"....

Why is there such a huge tax on gaming consoles and not computers?

Those crafty bastards at Sony. I can only hope that they'll pass on the savings.

They'll need the tax break considering the losses they'll take from the PS3.

Krazy Ken:"People just aren't ready to handle the awesome might that is the PS3. This was something I feared might happen. The Cell processor and Blu-Ray DVD drive are just too much for your average consumer to handle which is why we almost required a physical and mental exam prior to validating any sale of the PS3. If you were to fail, you would automatically be given an Xbox 360 since it's so weak and frail and you would need a system to match your pathetic psyche and fleshy meatbag."

Dude, you mock, but I'm telling you 4d is the next 'wii-volution' tee-hee

They tried to do that for the PS2 in the UK too didn't they?

I don't mind them tricking their way into using tax shelters if they use the money saved to improve their product or make it less expensive.

But if it would be handled as a computer, would that that also mean that games will get cheaper? Because PC games are always cheaper than console games.

^

No.

It's just a way of saving money for the console itself.

YEAH........LIKE WAS SAID IN THE 2ND PARAGRAPH OF THE ARTICLE. ;) :o

I don't know, maybe it's because I'm a Sony fanboy or whatever, but I don't see this as that bad really. If they can work their way around a higher tax to make more money then more power to them. Especially if it gives us a better chance (no matter how small a chance it might be) at the price being reduced sooner.

DON'T YOU THINK 'MS' WOULD'VE DONE IT, IF IT WERE POSSIBLE? THEY ARE, AFTER ALL, THE PC KINGS.......AND TEND TO PRODUCE PC-LIKE CONSOLES. THIS IS JUST 'SONY' BEING 'SONY':"WE'RE SO ARROGANT, WE DON'T THINK ANYONE KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PC AND GAMING CONSOLE". :o
