The remake of Don't Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead probably won't be as rad

Actually it came up in the really early 90's. 1991 on the box it said.

Plus they said the S word and B word alot and even the F word once. What was this rated PG-13?

People weren't as uptight about that s**t back then. The world's become full of ****in' b***hes. :woot:

I actually just watched this last night on VHS of all things and there are so many outdated things. First of all how would she get the job so easy. they wouldn't even check on her resume to make sure its legit or real and just hire the person the spot?

2 reasons:

1. It's a movie

2. She's Christina Applegate

:woot:

It was the 90's. It came out in 1991.

^ It's ok. It was still pretty much the 80's. Nothing had really changed between '89 and '91.

On the one hand, the constant stream of remake announcements or rumors is ridiculous. On the other hand, at least many of these are not great classics. At least we haven't gotten the announcement yet of Paul W.S. Anderson redoing Star Wars, Brett Ratner redoing The Godfather, or Uwe Boll redoing Gone with the Wind.

i honestly hope that movie is NEVER remade. I don't want it tarnished

Danielle Harris

they need to bring her back for a small cameo. Her and Christina Applegate having small cameos will basically pay tribute to the original. It doesn't have to be anything big, just like a small cameo.

One of the kids in the movie was in the two recent Halloween movies:

Of course, Christina Applegate still looks good after all these years.
She was also in two of the older ones aswell. Halloween 4 and 5.

And not to be a jerk, but why does a person who was in the original need to be in the remake? I thought alot of fans think its cheesy, but also alot think they need to pay "tribute" why I don't know.

I thought Fright Night seemed random...

Now how about Weekend at Bernie's?

Another f'n remake? :doh::cmad:

It's going to get to the point when they start remaking movies every other year.

Going to get to that point? Dude! That point has come & gone. We're up to at least one remake a year now.

as nostalgic as I am, I watched this recently and it was pretty damn unwatchable. Very very early 90s, the era where good cinematography and scores were left to the big boys (Scorsese)

Yeah, the original was beyond horrible. So anybody getting upset about this has problems. Anybody getting excited about this also has problems.

I don't think they're upset with this news for quite the same reason they were upset with Rob Zombie for his Halloween remakes though. Rob Zombie took two beloved classics and completely butchered them to his own f**ked up, white trash tastes. When we hear news about a movie like Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead being remade, we're like "Why the hell would you remake that piece of crap when there are so many out of work writers trying desperately to get their original screenplays made that you can employ for something fresh, new, and creative?"

Right, but wasn't the main contention with remaking classic movies is that they were perfect to begin with? So why mess with perfection? Then isn't "Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead" kind of the perfect movie to remake? It isn't a classic. It is FAR from perfect. So remaking the concept can't go anywhere but up?

Look, new creative ideas would be great. And we are getting some this summer. But remakes are never going away. They've been here since the beginning of film. The Ten Commandments, Ben-Hur ect.. But some great movies have come out of remakes, as well. Hell, Alfred Hitchock remade his OWN movie because he thought the original was made by an amateur; The Man Who Knew Too Much.

David Duchovney was in it too playing a jerk co-worker pony tail and everything.
