I agree. This isn't NeoGAF. The community here isn't nearly big or active enough to require threads for every game in a franchise. The platform-specific boards are nearly dead as it is.

Yeah, they barely move.. I've often thought that we just need one big game forum and with the ability to subscribe to threads.. It shouldn't be an issue.

What does everybody think of the gameplay so far? Too action oriented? I personally love it. It always took me out knowing that you play a highly trained member of a special unit, yet you even have trouble turning around. Well, back in the day at least. As long as enemies are adjusted and still pose a threat, I'm going to enjoy to slide underneath monsters and to empty my clips into their backs.

I think the series needs to continue to move forward so I'm definitely okay with what I see.

Up until RE5 Leon is the only main character who didn't meet Wesker
Going to be creepy if they resurrected Wesker here and made Leon, Chris and everyone else meet him

Yeah. I hope there's a new villain. I wonder if it's possible that Ada is the ''*****" that Chris is talking about. That could be interesting Ada vs Chris.

Dead Space 2 proved you can have over the top, heart racing action and still be scary as hell. The ONE thing i didn't like about the trailer was the section that had Chris going into cover and returning fire on enemies. I dont think that has any place in RE.

The story according to Capcom:

"It has been ten years since the Raccoon City incident and the President of the United States has decided to reveal the truth behind what took place in the belief that it will curb the current resurgence in bioterrorist activity. Due to be by the President's side is his personal friend and Raccoon City survivor, Leon S. Kennedy, but when the venue suffers a bioterrorist attack, Leon is forced to face a President transformed beyond recognition and make his hardest ever decision. At the same time, Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance member Chris Redfield arrives in China, itself under threat of a bioterrorist attack. With no country safe from these attacks and the ensuing outbreaks, the entire world's population is united by a common fear that there is no hope left."

So ten years past the RC incident? Having this take place in 2008? 4 years after RE4 and 1 year before RE5.

Well, he's still a highly trained Special Units member. Just because he's mostly fighting monsters, that doesn't mean he should forget standard tactics. =/

This looks f-ing great, although it's more because from the looks of it Leon's sections feels very atmospheric like the earlier titles whereas Chris' sections seems very action-oriented, now it that will always going to be like that throughout the game but it's not something I have a problem with. The movement seems to be more fluid, I like that.

So what this is 2008? That makes very little sense.

Why? This could take place in different periods of times, like RE for the 3DS. Maybe Leon's scenario puts things into motion, that are related to Chris's scenario.

Right, but I'm saying he shouldn't be fighting anything that can return gun fire at him. I dont want to fight humans in RE i want to fight monsters.

Guys, if anyone can field a quick question, does RE5 have difficulty settings?

leon, chris, zombies the virius

please dont **** this up please dont **** this up please dont **** this up please dont **** this up

knowing capcom they will, until a second edition comes along

Ah, so you are saying that both campaigns might take place at different times? Maybe Leons taking place before 5 with Chris' scenario taking place after? That makes sense.

About Sheva: She was painful when she takes items I needed and give me others, and using medicine unnecessarily at times, also the need to be near one another to heal at danger :cmad:. When using the bazooka she shouldn't be there

About gameplay: Seems very action oriented, but that's part of the fun in play

I wouldn't mind the occasional enemy soldier or mercenary, if it serves the story. As long as you don't mainly fight soldiers. What disappointed me in RE5, was that you were mostly fighting crazy humans with guns, grenades, riot shields, etc. They might all just as well have been regular humans.

Yea i agree. I despised those sections of the game.

Some of it seems too action oriented, but we will see. The environment looks great, and love the RE2 feel to it, and I love that slow moving zombies are back, so I hope that brings back the slow creeping terror.

I really do hope this is more survival horror oriented, I don't mind having more action then the originals but not overdone like RE5 was. I want them to go back to their roots. But this has my interest peaked.

That's what I'm speculating.

I think they're going for a balance between 4 and 5, not too much action but the right amount of it mixed with survival horror element, at least that's what one can hope.
