Read the review for the new 3DS game... GameInformer calls it the best RE game since 2. Gave it a 9/10.

They also reviewed it without the circle pad pro.. they said they never felt that they needed a second joystick. I'll still probably get it... (the CPP) but it's good to see that if you don't have it that it will still be easily playable. Game also takes place AFTER RE5... So.. Chris and Jill are partners again.

I thought it took place before 5? Like before Jill and Chris confronted Wesker.

Maybe that explains why Jill is similar to how she looks in RE5

Soooo uhhhmm...how did Jill get the pigmentation back to her hair that you know Wesker totally destroyed by experimenting on her?

By simply going to Walgreens and picking up brown hair dye.

Demo out on 3DS tomorrow.

Here's some highlights from the review in GameInformer.

Resident Evil: Revelations - 9 out of 10

Pro's:

- Delivers a console-caliber Resident Evil experience on a handheld
- Rich animations, detailed environments and solid cutscenes make this a visual stunner
- Some of the best music in the series, and disturbing monster noises help get you into the game
- Controls just as smoothly as its console predecessors, and the slick new dodge mechanic makes it even better
- A perfect blend of action and survival are driven home by a gripping episodic narrative that will have you struggling to put down your 3DS
- A story that puts the last two main series entries to shame
- One of the greatest looking hand held games ever seen especially with the 3D cranked all the way up. The campaign is hefty with a New Game+ and Worthwhile co-op experience.

Cons:

-The two new characters (Code name Grinder and Jackass) are easily the worst characters in the series.

"Since its inception in 1996, the Resident Evil series has gradually mutated from the eerie, slow-paced horror into a guns-blazing, explosion-riddled blockbuster. Resident Evil Revelations, the newest worthwhile title for 3DS, improves the fantastic gameplay established by recent entries while rekindling the dread and survival from the earlier games. Jill and Chris' latest ordeal is the most satisfying Resident Evil experience we've played in years.

What about the circle pad? Personally, I didn't experience one moment in the game that left me wanting for an extra circle pad.

The D-Pad is used to switch between all your items, a simple but useful addition when cornered by a pack of zombies. My favorite addition is the dodge ability. One well timed flick of the circle pad lets you evade enemy attacks. Out maneuvering monsters is priceless in a game where choosing your battles is both crucial and fun. Revelations also incorporates deep weapon customization in the vein of Call of Duty. Want a shotgun with augmented power, a wider spread, and gigantic clip size? No problem. Considering how precious ammo can be, tailoring weapons to your specific player personality is a dream come true for survival horror fans."

RE5.. Meh, What's the revival selection?

Man, I surely wish we could some how return to Raccoon City.

Damn, i was REALLY hoping they were about to re release RE and RE2.

Downloadin that RE:R demo now.

Played the Revelations demo.. Pretty darn awesome, feels like the old school RE I used to really enjoy. I even had some "scare" moments here and there.

Good stuff, will buy.

Revelations seems pretty cool. Neat little throwback with you waking up in what appears to be a mansion. Still prefer the classic zombie to this new enemy tho, altho they are pretty creepy.

So, a good RE horror game, with RE5 style gameplay, I read you can even walk while shooting. Now finally make one for the consoles! :argh:

From what I've read we will get the classic zombie.. however, sadly, I believe their day of being staples of the series is over.

Eesh! I just looked into preordering RE Revelations and found out it was 50 bucks.. I thought it was standard 40.

Not sure how I feel about spending 50 bones on a hand held game.. Really good or not, lol.
