His combat style is VERY similar to Albert Wesker. Very Matrixy like movements. He is seen injecting himself throughout the trailer.

Definitely not HUNK. HUNK looks nothing like that guy (HUNK has platinum blonde hair, more older too).

They look similar to me.

Altho according to that rewind theater, IGN stated they were informed that the 3rd character is "related" to an existing character in some way. Increases the validity to the Alex argument.

Which is clearer? Exactly, but that's not to say they don't say Alex Wesker was HUNK all along. RE5 Chris looks notably different from RE1 Chris afterall.

Neither would I. It makes the idea of there being an Alex Wesker a little less cheap than it sounded at first.

I didn't think I'd be so excited about this game, because for me getting some resolution on Lord Spencer was intially the stopping point. After the Lisa Trevor backstory in ReMake I was looking forward to meeting the old chap. That was the highlight of 5 for me.

Lest we forget, RE3 actually is a sidestory as well. CODE Veronica was the actual third entry, they just gave the numerical title to Nemesis because production on CV was taking too long.

True, but no one outside of Capcom counts RE3 as the side game it was. If RE3 is a side story then RE: O is a side, side story.

But like u mentioned earlier, u can't really go by images of characters, so it doesn't really matter what he does or doesnt look like. At this point I still think there is more evidence pointing to HUNK as that 3rd, unless, as theorized Alex was always HUNK.

I wish there was an easy way to go back and play all the core games. I'm jonesing for some Resident Evil, but I know if I jump into the most recent ones I'll be completely lost. I can barely remember anything about the plot.

Other than being a "merc," there isn't much evidence toward HUNK at all. If anything, more evidence points toward Alex Wesker, including the similarities in clothing and fighting style to that of Albert Wesker. The Lost in Nightmares files mention how Alex was the best of the Wesker children only after Albert, however, he/she betrayed Spencer.

"Alex became a member of Umbrella after the experiment and worked secretly for Spencer, after gaining his trust. Furthermore, Spencer greatly admired Alex's superior intellect and leadership skills, and in order to perform research to release him from his ageing body, Spencer named him head researcher and continually provided him with money, equipment, supplies and experimentation subjects. But no matter how long they waited, the expected results never came."

Ozwell E. Spencer used him to develop a virus which would counteract aging and give Spencer immortality. Alex developed the virus, but he disappeared with the finished sample. His whereabouts are currently unknown. Foreshadowing at its finest, people.
