They could have, but Paul Anderson is the man of a million excuses when it comes to why they didn't. First he said it was because he wanted to surprise audiences by not knowing who would come out of the movie alive. But then after fanboys tore him a new one, he tried to blame Capcom and say he wasn't allowed to use the real characters until after he proved his movies could make money. In the end, I think he just doesn't really give a crap about the characters from the games and just wants to screw around with his stupid Alice character with superpowers.

I just finished watching the first Resident Evil and well it was just as bad as people said it was. That was one of the worst, if not the worse film Ive ever watched. I think Im gonna go put up my BR copy of Apocalypse (which I havent watched yet) now. What a disgrace. Couldnt they have done the story based on the mansion incident with Chris and Jill?

I agree 100%, I wish a competent director would've stepped up to the plate and made a movie based on the first Resident Evil.

We need to get a C. Nolan type of director to reboot this series!!!

Song matches the video perfectly:

ahh Code Veronica. I loved that game and I actually liked Steve. I see he's not well liked in the RE universe but he wasnt that bad. I thought his crush on Claire was cute

The Ashford twins also had a very questionable relationship...

Has anyone seen the ShadowLeggy RE musicals on youtube!! They are so cool!!

Yes.

My favorite one is with Leon holding onto Ada, with that song from Titanic. :woot:

^It is at the very end of that one.

I would make some comment about how he'd make it so the zombies werent really zombies, they just wore make up that made them look like zombies, but you know, we dont need that debate in this thread :o

I think you just described RE4

They never call them zombies, but IMO they fit the criteria of "zombie." They are a different breed from the Romero-flavored zombies that were in all the other games. Rather than being undead cannibals, they are the mindless slaves of a puppetmaster. They quite different animals, but both would fall under the category of zombie.

They're more like the classic voodoo definition of zombie, so in the classic, broad definition of zombie, yeah they are. But by the more modern defintion, no they're not. All depends on what your definition of zombie is really.

RE4 villians not zombies, no rotting flesh, not 100% mindless. They are still living people that have been controlled by a parasite. 100% not zombies. They can not be zombies if they are still alive. The game says that the surgeons tried to remove the parasites from a living host.

Hence why its not RE4 is hardly an RE game but rather a tripped-out version of Invasions of the Body-Snatchers with a James Bond twist. Slap a little Gregorian cult angle with an Osama-wannabe and you have a game with an ignorable storyline and solid though sometimes questionable gameplay...Thanks fr the change Mikami, lets go back to zombies.

Yes yes while the non zombies were a departure from the norm. Which can make some of the RE fans cry, lets not forget that the gameplay is far better. Lets mix the new gameplay with real T virus zombies.

Hey, I liked the Las Plagas in RE4, it was a nice departure from the usual zombie menace. Technically, when you think about it, it's not the first time parasites have been in the RE series. There was the G-Virus parasite, and then there is the Nemesis parasite.

Yeah I agree, I loved the changes. All of them even Leons one liners and Ashleys skirt tricks...

I still want to see T Virus zombies back too.

I agree, i'd like to see the good old T-Virus carriers aka zombies return as well.

Yes yes indeed fans should not have an issue with the parasite thing. Good point Nemesis is a parasite villian. In fact RE2 william Birkin passed on parasites into human hosts..So the reality is that there have been just as many parasites as zombies! lol

Like I said, the Romero-style zombies who are rotting mindless cannibals is only one kind of zombie. Romero's version is one of the more popular varieties, but it's not the only definition. A zombie can also be someone who is possessed, or someone who's mind is being controlled by a "sorcerer" of some kind. Night of the Living Dead made the undead cannibal variety the most popular, but before then, you would see a lot of different kinds of zombies in film and telivision. Like I said, the Genado do fit the necessary criteria for being zombies, just not George Romero-style zombies.

But they fail at one crucial point, they are still alive. Surely even under magic mind controll you must still be undead to class as a real true zombie.
