I don't care what they do, but they've got to keep the over the shoulder camera angle. I've been playing Code Veronica a bit lately, and how some people scream for that old style of gameplay is beyond me. I know that nostalgia is a ***** with rose colored glasses and all, but none of the old games compares to part 4 and 5. I'd say that they were better for their time, but I still would rather be able to see what I'm shooting at. I also like aiming. That's a nice thing to have in a game where you're shooting people. Crazy, I know.

It's also more scary if you regularily have to turn around to check if someone/something crawled up behind you.

Eff that. NONE of the Resident Evil titles come close to topping the REmake for the Gamecube. That is still the pinnacle of the series and survival horror in general.

Leon S. Kennedy + over the shoulder + the Chicago typewriter & infinite rocket launcher = best RE game ever! I told Ashley to run a hide a bunch, plus once I get her with the armor it was fun as hell to just blast her randomly with the rocket launcher. Good times.

Haha, i loved 4 as well, but it doesnt top the REmake. Nothing in the RE universe is as chilling as the Trevor diaries and seeing Lisa Trevor herself. You want to understand how evil and sick Umbrella was, read those pages.

So is this going to be a full on HD remake or just retouched textures, higher resolution and widescreen support? Basically Im asking will it be the PS2/GC/DC titles remastered or are they doing brand new titles based on the originals ala RE remake for the GC?

Nah, i have a feeling they are just cleaning the old games up. I doubt we are getting full on, redone titles.

Capcom also announced that both titles, RE4 and RE:CV will be on the XBLA and PSn this fall.

Capcom said today it will release Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Code: Veronica X as downloadable titles on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network this Fall.

Both titles are receiving high-definition "upgraded visuals." Resident Evil 4 will have all the bonus contain from the previous RE4 releases, including the Separate Ways epilogue, and Trophy and Achievement support. Capcom did not say if Resident Evil Code: Veronica X will also include Trophy and Achievement support. The price for both titles was not revealed at this time.

This packaged was announced earlier this week in Japan as Resident Evil: Revival Selection

Oh I see now. The Revival Selection will just be these downloadable games in disc form. I hope they can manage to get CVX to look good bc that game is a bit old. No doubt RE4 will look good as it did when it was originally released and still holds up well

I'll get 'em both... I'm to much of an RE dork not to, lol. I wonder though... have they said anything about Mercs? Mercs online would be fantastical. Also... I wonder if the PSN version will have Move support for 4?

I wouldnt be surprised if it had Move support, considering the Wii port was heralded as the best version bc of the controls

Anyways, I just saw those comparison shots and they are HIGHLY misleading. The game was never that blurry, even on the PS3. The "new" shots are exactly how I remember the game to look. I really dont see much difference and its kinda lame of Capcom to "ugly" the game up in order to make the comparison look better

For those that havent seen it, heres the reported rundown of Operation Raccoon City:

The game takes place in 1998, a time where Resident Evil fans already know what's set to take place.

The title lets you enjoy the series from a new perspective, as the men and women who are technically responsible for it all.

Rather than continuing the zombie slaying antics of BSAA agents, you're taken back to the original outbreak "that underscored both Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis."

The game doesn't require any crazy amounts of knowledge of the past titles or characters involved in the series. The title opens up to a "quartet of new faces".

Essentially, you're playing as members of the official Umbrella Security Services squad.

Operation Raccoon City is a team-based shooter allowing four members of the USS team to destroy all evidence of the ongoing outbreak. Along with slaying the zombies, you're looking to "kill pretty much every survivor possible".

The gameplay is described as "dirty", and the series will feel much darker than it has up to this point.

The game features three factions that Capcom has stated make up a "three-corner conflict". The other two factions are the US Spec Ops, who are there to repel the USS, and the "bio-organic weapon monsters (BOWs) created by Umbrella.

The USS team is made up of the following characters: Vector, Beltway, Bertha, and Spectre. Depending on which character you choose, the responsibilities that you're asked to do within your team will variate.

Hunk, first seen in Resident Evil 2 as a hidden character, is the inspiration behind the USS team.

"Whichever team you play on, you'll be facing Umbrella-created horrors in between skirmishes with each other".

Zombies in the game can sense you in three different manners: sight, sound, and smell.
A situation is described in the game where Vector cloaks himself to stir up previously slumbering zombies to use against the Special Ops military foes.

Quite a few scenarios in the game aren't "all about headshots". A quote in the article states, "It's about shooting the other soldiers - manipulating the, making them bleed."

The game will take you through a number of familiar areas if you're a Resident Evil junkie who remembers your journey to Raccoon City.

Operation Raccoon City, depending on how you play the game, will give you the option to "change the history of Resident Evil". Not only will you have the chance to meet and interact with various characters from the series, but you'll even have the opportunity to kill them.

One of th mottos repeated to OXM throughout the demo was "Kill Leon". It's also stated that if you choose to represent in the game as the Special Ops team, that you'd more than likely have the goal of trying to save Leon Kennedy.

Slant Six or Capcom won't reveal if any other characters will be playable in the title just yet, but it'd make sense to see quite a few big cameos.

The title will still see players relying on collecting herbs to heal from any attacks you may suffer. You won't need to hoard any herbs, but they'll still benefit you to collect them throughout the game.

"This is not a one-versus-one game where you've got one clip full of ammo and zombies on you. If you've ever thought of those times in an RE game when you thought, 'I'd wish I had a big gun', that's what this game is. It's not fair to give people big guns, then take all the ammo away."

One of the pictures in the article showcases a zombie being used as a "meatshield".
Operation Raccoon City allows players to earn XP for kills, with these points helping you survive the onslaught, and to help to encourage you to anihilate everything in your path.
The XP will allow you to earn new abilities, such as Vector's cloaking skill, and new weapons.

Tyrants will most definitely be included in the title.

I'm excited for all 3 games. I've never played any of the RE games (though I have RE5 which I might play over the next week, since Spring Break starts), so this is good news for me. Especially with RE4!

Told my friend about this, we're definitely getting it. Back in Raccoon City, co-op, the chance to get to kill main RE characters, it's gonna be fun.

I dont like that idea at all. Iv never really liked 'what if' scenarios, but they really dont need to be screwing around that much.

Yeah, the What If scenarios kinda turn me off that game. Also just in general because I like the main 4 of Resident Evil. I like Chris, Jill, Leon, and Claire. Why the hell would I want to kill them?

They are the main reason I kept playing the games. I wanted to see them survive and beat Wesker/Umbrella.

Im with you. Altho and maybe its just miscommunication, but it seems as tho you could be on the other side, the side of the US Special forces against Umbrella, so youd actually help S.T.A.R.S.

And THATS a team up that needs to happen, Chris, Leon, Jill and Claire, all in one game.

That would be a dream come true, Chris and Leon would do some damage

My favorite aspect of the RE franchise is the Umbrella Corporation so this new game sounds right up my alley. Good lord there's some good RE stuff comin' soon!!!

Yeah this new game seems intriquing to say the least.

Hope it'll have those co-op elements from RE5. You know, like helping somebody get up a ledge, moving objects or kicking down a heavy door together.

I really would like a RE6 with Leon and Claire teaming up once again.
They were the first characters I played with.
